Cerbo GX

Afternoon all

Regards the ignition live feed to the Orion. Do we leave the bridge between H-L in or remove it? The installation instructions are vague to say the least. They show it going into the H but also the bridge still there. Also if we have an ignition feed do I disable the engine shut down detection?

Mine is wired in as it came out of the box, no ignition feed, not changed the shut down detection, it works perfectly. I was always fiddling with the old TR30 to play nicely.

That's what I've done, no shutdown detection, just the engine signal into the H Port. That bridge is just a simple switch - if it's connected between H and L then the Orion will be on and ready to charge. So you'll need to remove the small wire and add your van engine signal until the H port side of the plug.

Paul does this have to be from Canbus or a simple 12v if the van is running? I've used the same signal wire that worked faultless with the Renogy kit.

No idea tbh! I had the factory LB so that had the engine signal already there.

But as far as I know it just needs to see a tiny bit of current into the H port, either sent from the L port or from the van. So shouldn't matter.

OK an update. I have a feeling my Cerbo has an issue with WiFi.

I checked against @TallPaul_S 's screenshot and my firmware was a later version than his. But it was also showing an update available. Strange.

Anyway everytime I tried to rund the update the WiFi would drop.

So into the house, get a LAN cable and plug the Cerbo into the van's WiFi and update.

Update successful:

Now I just need to get to Roamer so they can take the battery apart to check for a loose connection.

If you have 5g turned on in the van wifi that may cause an issue. Did with mine. Turned it off and sorted.

Nice! Yeah always pays to start with the basics! (Years of IT support experience...).

Glad you're sorted now, YouTube probably got a different firmware version as you've got a shiny MK2 cerbo.

And the WiFi is notoriously bad on these, that's why I've hardwired mine into my router with a 5m ethernet cable.

The Cerbo and the WiFi are about 60cm apart, surely it cant be that bad?

Your firmware and @Drive Wayne 's are earlier than mine, but both show as up to date?

we both have the Mk1 version of the Cerbo GX. You've got the slightly newer Mk2 version. So probably slightly different firmware versions for a while until they both get synced.

Oh actually I think you also have beta firmware turned on.
