ClimAir wind deflectors

Just to report back mine arrived in a very bashed up box (despite FRAGILE GLASS being printed on it, well done DHL ) this morning.

@Primey mine did come with a little bag containing the clips so keep on at ECP

@Jeff G @Greenmachine having test fitted I see what you mean with both the clearance but also the tension, they seem to be designed to give the bottom a slight "twist" of tension. I'm going to leave them clipped in on the drive and maybe do a gentle drive around home to see how I feel. I like the suggestion on another thread of trying to melt the pilot hole rather than drill.

I don’t see the point as the screw will make the hole the same size anyhow. It takes about 1 second to drill it with a 1mm bit. Push the clip in slightly so the hole is in the desired place then drill through the hole. Fit screw. Done.

Can't find them listed on Europarts using search, do you have product code? Europarts search is pretty useless. Although dearer climair seems to be better choice.

I have a pair of smoked Climair. They only came with a couple of small screws. You push then into the gap above the windows and then, mark, drill and screw in the retaining screws. It was really straightforward.

Picked up climair deflectors, haven't fitted yet. Looking at instructions & video looks a simple fit. Just wondering how they hold in place with only the small screw.

The Climair wind deflectors push up into the recess where the top of the sliding window goes. The wedge between the lower front corner and the rear upper corner. The screw just holds the front to the door trim, to stop it moving outwards.

Got around to fitting them after a few failed attempts but that was due to weather. Think rain was just waiting for me to come out. Easy to fit deflector but trying to get the screw in was a struggle again that was more to my age & dexterity.

For the record I did get up the courage to drill the van:

One suggestion was if you don't have a 1mm drill bit, use a nail, or panel pin heated to melt a small hole. I found that less stressful
For the record I agonised over this but in the end realised I could use the carbide mini drills and a hand pin vice I have for doing PCB work.

Example on eBay.

The hand pin vice (finger drill) gives you a lot of control and the carbide drills are razor sharp, had the pilot hole in place very cleanly and simply with little stress.

Note for those hunting for a bargain:
1. You can get the carbide drills on their own but they won't work without a pin vice, you'll just instantly snap them in a regular drill.
2. You can get the pin vice on it's own with 100s of free HSS mini drills, don't use these drills they are "free" for a reason and tend not to bite and skid across the surface.

I've already got a set of these on the van . . . (from before)

i now much prefer them over the Heko ones,

mainly because of the "1mm hole, screw & bracket " setup.

( the Heko ones kept falling out . . . even with extra clips. )

these Climair ones have been no issue since fitting.

Anybody know if these are effected by a external windscreen cover that wraps over the doors
Hi, I’ve had my deflectors on for several months now and use an external insulated screen cover with no problems. If you still want some ventilation through the windows, slightly open with the screen on just use some foam pipe insulation to keep an air way

It's generally the other way around, a tightly tailored cover designed to be under just the right tension to not flap could end up being too tight with deflector holding it out a bit.

I've no issues with my basic Fuel Lagoon cover and I doubt you would put enough pressure on them to cause the deflector damage.

All just ready to order my wind deflector one more question I have a pure grey van and all black badged has anybody got black or smoke climair deflectors in their pure grey van would like to see a picture
Would be good to see both if that’s possible
Thanks everyone
