No worries. I really appreciate any of the replies especially one as informative as this! :) I get it now so thanks for in depth explanation. I got this from the scan for instruments.

Good :). I think seeing your Instrument cluster is the high end - colours and all, so hopefully someone in the forum with the same + ACC could provide same information.

Meanwhile here is the coding from the same van as earlier with the ACC - there are a lot of similarities...
Address 17: Instruments (J285) Labels:| 5K0-920-xxx-17.clb
Part No SW: 7E0 920 870 L HW: 7E0 920 870 L
Component: KOMBI H05 1008
Coding: 160F010300

All clear now. Thanks again @mmi! Hopefully some kind soul with an ACC enabled Caravelle will be so kind to do a scan for us!?!

Didn't find anything documented in the VCDS re ACC in the Instruments.

However in the 01-Engine... the following. I have to admit that I'm not comfortable with touching the engine .

As earlier, from the same panel van with ACC from the factory (engine CXFA, 150bhp, DSG, 4motion, LHD, MY16).

You would also need the controls..

I have ACC so I can give you coding..

I have scanned both vehicles with and without so have the coding I also double checked and the radar sensor is the same unit

I don't blame you mate. I'd be reticent!

Is that a new steering wheel jobby then? And thanks that'd be great.

More good news, thanks Pauly.

Hi Guys

Interesting thread on changing stuff. I’m a Tech Geek so love hacking things. My T6 is three weeks old so I assume changing anything will invalidate the warranty.

However - from reading this - am I right in assuming that if my van has the radar at the front, and cruise control fitted with steering wheel controls then the Adaptive Cruise Control can be switched on? With this Carista device?

I’m not going to so it but still handy to clarify.

Cheers

Gareth

You can't change it with carista. You need VCDS and someone who knows what they're doing with it.

Thanks @lukeavell - But I assume if I’ve not paid for it then I shouldn’t be activating it?

Or am I wrong in assuming that?

If I am wrong and it can be done with my current kit - am I invalidating my warranty by finding someone with VCDS?

Anyone near Swansea? Will give beer lol.

Gar

Paying for a subscription to Carista allows you to make all the changes discussed in previous posts in this thread.

Not sure about the warranty issue though. Can't say it crossed my mind in respect to Carista as you're not making any changes that will increase the likelihood of awt breaking.

VCDS changes might be though, although I'm basing that on my personal views of caution with VW warranty work.

I may be over cautious however by spending too much time on VW van forums!

Not really any warranty issues unless you remap it or do something that breaks it and you told them you did it... ;)

No one has yet enabled ACC as we haven’t found anyone with all the kit, but there is a thread going where we were discussing the coding differences.
You would need access to VCDS as Carista only allows canned changes and VCDS is more freeform if you know what I mean.

I have all the kit based on what I read:

The radar box
Cruise control
Steering wheel controll

I don’t have a Carista though. Lol.

Anyone near Shrewsbury where I am on hols.

Gareth

But you won’t have the correct buttons on your wheel, ACC has a different button compared to standard cruise

What Pauly said. My wife's Tiguan has ACC but the controls are different to my Caravelle. It's a great tool for long motorway droves though.
