Multiple Engine Management Faults

@Twoguns, the light has reared its ugly head again this morning, so i can only assume the update did not work, i am waiting for a call back to book into the main dealers to carry out the update. will let you know what they say.
That sucks pal. I really thought this update might of been the one as what you described about the DSG holding 7th for to long seemed to make sense to me. However I've done a bit of reading on DPF regeneration and I don't think it's about revs it's more exhaust temp. Below is a brief description I found.
"To maintain performance a DPF has to be emptied regularly. This is usually done passively in a process called 'regeneration': when the exhaust temperature's high enough, on motorways or fast A-roads. The collected soot is burnt off, leaving only a tiny ash residue."
So considering I normally drive on these type of roads for more than an hour at a time and hardly do any short journeys mine should be working at its best so the AdBlue shouldn't have to do too much.
Mines still at the dealers since last Monday so awaiting an update on how the loaner van did over the weekend with my AdBlue parts on. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Getting frustrated for you @Twoguns, what an absolute debacle. What makes it worse is that other people are reporting the same issues, VW have an issue that they are doing their best to subdue.

Cheers pal. That's the conclusion I've come too. They know they have an issue and at this time have no idea of how to fix it.
On a positive note, your van looks really good on the B14 and T5 Black Sportlines like I have, hope your pleased with it. It looks loads better than the 30mm drop you had.

@Twoguns and @DaveyB , you don't think Vw would try to hide an obvious problem from the consumer do you? Lol.
But in all seriousness I will give them a couple of attempts to fix it then I will drive it till we get rid or it goes bang.
We only had this one because it was available there and then and we didn't want to wait the quoted 16 weeks, me thinks next time another 204 which touch wood seems okay!!!!

The power of social media.
After a pretty shitty day last Friday with the Finance company and dealer not answering my questions I thought sod this it's been long enough and put a post on VWCV UK Facebook page. I included the three pictures of my van on the back of a low loader reporting how VWCV had washed their hands when they found out I had VW finance and that VW seemed unable to fix their vans.

Today I just had a call from the executive head VW Customer Care handler who has now taken on my case and agreed that this has not been handled correctly and that they should not of passed the case off onto finance due to the length of time this has gone on for and is not excepted from a new vehicle.
So from now on I'll be dealing directly with him as he said he has the most weight and will arrange for a better replacement vehicle as it looks like this could go on for some time yet.
His system shows that the dealer has up to now carried out the process correctly and that it has now been escalated within the technical department at head office as it's even above their level of knowledge.
This now gets escalated to 3rd or even 4th line Technical level departments which could take some time as they cover the whole VAG range and are a much smaller team due to the level of expertise.

I also said that I've paid a premium price for a new van and asked why should I pay this premium when I could of saved thousands and had a second hand one and had the same grief or more than likely not have. So this will be addressed once they find out what's the cause, so hopefully I'll get something decent out of them as I don't think I should pay top premium money and go through this as it's not felt like owning a brand new vehicle at all. Shame really, as I was really looking forward to my first new Van.

Well played @Twoguns. Still be sure to log every interaction with this person, and every time the stealer says anything make your response through him instead. Hopefully then you'll not get fobbed off anymore. Be interested in hearing what sort of upgrade they are going to give you on the loaner.

@Twoguns. Happy to see that this has now been escalated to "a man who can" get action above and beyond a difficult dealer and an individual (probably overworked) in VWCV who washed his hands of everything . I have been following this closely even though I may not have commented too often. Hopefully your case may trigger a solution for others too :whistle::whistle::D.

I don't even bother calling the dealers now. Although to be far it looks like it's not their fault, excuse the pun. This is a VW problem but at least I now have their attention and hopefully my experience will help others once they find out what's the cause.
I've currently got a bottom of the range Passat that's a nice car but has no options at all. A car like that and it hasn't even got auto lights/wipers, cruise control etc. So I thought I'm paying for a top spec van with pretty much all the options so I want them to put their hands in their pockets and give me something good.
Unless they give me a California I have no need for a van as I use it to commute to work and sleep over night in the car park between shifts. At the moment I can stay with a mate on shift so unless it's a California which I very much doubt I want a top car. We will see.

I did the same when they pissed me off ,straight on there face book page ,they contacted me within 12 hours .nearly as quick as when I posted on twitter .
@Twoguns are you dealing with imran at vwcs ?

I'm dealing with a guy called Gary. He said he was an executive Customer Care handler, the highest possible complaints department.
How did you get on once yours went this far? Did you see things speed up or was it more company bullshit words and excuses?

They ended Up paying half to my after market swivel seats ,as this was blamed on my delay . All the calls just went round in circles ,and I have never heard someone say there were really sorry as many times in a 10 minute phone call .
I think your situation is on a higher level than mine . I am sure they will do all they can .
After my two out bursts ,I got the loner van and the dealer said please stay off social media .
So it did work they don't like bad press

Sorry, run that one by me again, the delay on an engine management fault was due to aftermarket swivel seats???
@Twoguns refuse to stay off social media unless you see clear advances in the rectification of the problem, it may aid to focus their attention on fixing it. Sounds like you've got the right person by the short and curlies, but they will have a boss who has a boss and so on up the line. Really hoping that headway starts to be made.

No my problem was delivery delays .

Ahhh I see. Didn't think I was understanding that correctly.

@Twoguns really sorry to hear your on going problems mate. The only reason I've been able to bail out is I've only changed the wheels and satnav all of which can be swapped when the new one turns up.

Interestingly, my mate's son has bought a 150 Highline manual and was checking out getting it remapped. He's not getting the EML issues, but was not happy with the MPG. I can't remember the firm, but they told him they can only remap T6 103's and 204's. When asked why, he was told that they were waiting for an issue to be resolved at VW with the 150 before they could complete the remap development. I don't know it could be a load of b@ll@cks but it does seem to fit, and from peoples experiences here, it seems the 150 DSG is the constant factor.

The Finance Company has just called with the latest update.
Apparently the VW factory have released a TPI (don't know what it means) to VW brand, stating that there is a known problem with up to eight yes eight components on the 150DSG model that can cause the symptoms that my van has and that the dealer has checked my van for these and has identified that my van has two of these components. The guy said he doesn't know at this time what they are but will find out. The dealer has ordered the replacement two components and hopefully it will be fitted and tested by early next week so fingers crossed.

The Finance Company also asked me to have a think of an offer that would be acceptable so I said this has not felt like a brand new purchase so why should I pay brand new prices and would want as much as they could offer. I didn't want to give him a figure as I said if I did he would either laugh at me or think thank god for that we've got away with that.
He said have a think about it overnight, but I said it's still going to be the same answer tomorrow and how could I put a figure on it.

So what do you guys think I should do? The problem has been there since 21st December, it's been to dealers four times for about five weeks in total. The back and forth trips to the dealers, the days wasted waiting for recovery and replacement car drop offs etc.

Technically it hasn't cost me anything other than the fuel to the dealers and they said they can't compensate for time and that they have kept me mobile which has to be considered which I replied "That goes without saying that you should keep me mobile". He said technically they only have to cover 48hrs.
I also said I feel has though I have been a guinea pig for this model and that it looked as though VW had not tested it properly as there are others out there with the same problem.
So what price do you think is realistic? Anyone with similar experiences with compensation cases?

My van was at the dealer today for a new cv boot and I got a call form the service department that there was a "campaign" on the 150ps model for a new sensor to be fitted on the engine and a software update to stop the amount of re-gens the engine performs, I don't know if this is even related to your issue but thought I would pass the info on. Hope you eventually get this nightmare put to bed.

@Twoguns
Its difficult to put a figure on stress and heartache, i think you either pick a figure that you feel is reasonable and stick to your guns or pick a number & double it and see what the counter offer is.
Have you missed any days work ?
Have you had any costs/expenses arising from this ?
@mhill has locked horns with VW before, anything to add Miles ?
