Yeah, it's all over the place! And don't forget the 'pre dented' rear bumper! I assume that's there to allow for fork lift loading but how much does 1cm of indent really help?
I had one for a couple days and am planning to order one, it makes sense to me for range vs economyThere's one model I am somewhat intrigued about, I'll admit - the PHEV model. 30 miles roughly EV range according to reviews of the ford version, and 230bhp. Shame there's no awd version. And if I'm honest, a diesel PHEV would have made even more sense...![]()
I place interior quality very high on the list, as well as creature comforts. Hence why I went for a Caravelle which was the closest in feel and spec and finish to my Skoda Superb. For me appearances are way down the list of priority. Function, performance, drivability and handling are of greater importance. AWD the biggest priority together with off road capability or potential.
Of course the things that you list are also of some importance to me but I do not want to park a vehicle a mile away and have to walk that distance just to go somewhere. The Caravelle is quite well appointed mine the Exec 4Motion with rear Diff Lock with larger than standard BFG AT tyres. Climate Control is excellent at keeping the windows clear. I also wonder why these days the best lights and other safety related items are not standard fit right across the range. If every one had the same LED or HID lights then surely for the manufacturer economy of scale should apply.I place interior quality very high on the list, as well as creature comforts. Not sure I could live with a basic panel van interior and spec day to day, I am glad to see that things like climate control are standard now, as they should be in 2025!!!
And if you think VW is bad, take a look at the options list on a 2/300k Ferrari or Porsche! The reality is that manufactures make a handsome profit on optional extras like LED lights etc. They are always looking to up sell options that very often cost a fraction of what they charge!
I do not need to look I can imagine. The minimum standard fir safety related features such as vehicle driving lights need lifting by governments mandate. Manufacturers should not be able to get away with poor lighting. It should apply to any and all manufacturers. It may put the overall price up but if everyone had the same the overall costs of improvement would be lower, no need to have separate tooling, training, storage and so on. As all manufacturers would need to comply there would be a greater incentive to keeping the price down. they can make more money out of the luxury bits and pieces and things of personal taste. And if you think VW is bad, take a look at the options list on a 2/300k Ferrari or Porsche!
Your photography skills aren't the problem, anyway, that's reminded me to fix a puncture on my sack barrow.Saw one in person for the first time today. While the Ford version is starting to grow on me. The VW version is not for me.
(Don't criticise the photo, best I could do in a rush)

I think they are trying to hide it behind those balloonsSaw one in person for the first time today. While the Ford version is starting to grow on me. The VW version is not for me. Wheel arch looks like it needs 24 inch rims.
(Apologies for the crap photo, best I could do in a rush)

We’re gonna need a bigger balloon
AgreedTo me it looks as though VW asked Pixar to design it?
Wouldn’t look out of place in the next Cars film.
An animated cartoon caricature of the T5.
Citroen had some absolute bangers style wise and were good innovators too - swivelling (cornering lights) in the 50’s, high level lights too, double glazing, hydro pneumatic suspension. Even chromed cylinders in the 2CV - which had linked suspension of sorts. Is anybody else thinking it looks a bit "Citroen"??.......What a shame!!
