Power Latching retrofit

Reckon I could do with a full tailgate closing system, considering how in the process of slamming the tailgate down (cos you have to give a bit of welly) I forgot to get my 6'5" high swede out of the way. Result - tailgate into top of head, DaveyB impacts the floor. Now got a bloody huge lump on the top of the ole noggin, and sat balancing a bag of peas on top of it.:cry::(

Interesting this. How about making DIY guides for your projects? My van dont have any of those fancy electric features, almost had manual windows...

Once completed properly I will make custom wiring looms for others that want to do it so will mostly be plug and play
Tailgate latching is relatively easy just need a 12v power supply to feed it, I was lucky that I already had supplies there to do it from previous mods
SLD latching is next on the list but I may have accidentally ordered some LED headlights to retro fit so we will see ....

Not sure this was ment for me andy but i cant make it im afraid , not really a camper but would have been nice to meet some of you guys. Another time a :)

@Pauly looking forward to seeing how you get on with the led headlights

Its a motorised striker plate, the unit replaces the existing striker using the same fixing holes but the tailgate threshold strip has to be replaced to accommodate the larger unit
No wiring or changes to the tailgate everything is located inside

@Pauly do you think I could join into my side door latch wiring

How long do you realistically think it will be before you have the kit available? Thanks.

If you are talking about the perm 12V supply then yes, all power latching modules are fed from the same fuse SC44 - 20A
There is an earth post adjacent to the modules behind rear panel if reqd so should be pretty straightforward for you

Does anybody have a picture of an existing module factory fitted in situ ??
The only thing holding me back at the moment is that the mounting bracket for the control module is on back order from Germany so i dont know exactly where the module sits, i need a definite position as i have made my wiring loom extra long ATM, when i have the position i can trim down the cables, measure & reproduce

Depends what particular door you are interested in
Tailgate kits ready to ship 2-3 weeks as have parts on back order from Germany
SLD im hoping to do on mine over the next couple weeks if i have time so it will be another couple weeks after that to produce a loom/kit but i make no promises as very busy at work ATM so only have weekends to do stuff
