Power Latching retrofit

Fine work @Pauly I now what your sayiny with the doors, bin there done that. So twin electric doors were a must when i ordered, great with the kids and some adults ;)

Thats exactly how i have done mine but thought that will do temporarily until i figure out how VW route the cable, i assumed it went down through floor and back up inside rear quarter

Think i will make my own hole to run it through

When I ordered the latching on a PV you had to add the rubber floor covering as a condition. I reckon the cables just run under the matt ?

So how much for the rear door and side door kit?

Thats a good question only did the side door today so i need to add up all the bits i have used so far

I will say though that the wiring for the side door is a bit more difficult to install than the tailgate as you have to interrupt the cable that goes to the door switch, for the tailgate it is in the roof void directly above the modules so straight forward enough but the slider door cables come from under front seat up into B pillar so i had to run cables over roof and down B pillar then ducked under flooring to get under the seat (didnt like the idea of joining inside B pillar as too close to seatbelt) but saying that a power supply is required in the rear quarter panel to power the modules/motors so that would need running in anyway

Certainly interested Pauly, are you able to do a set of instructions as to what feed to connect up to and where? Have twin sliders and tailgate - both are a PITA.

Yes mate, i will do instructions for installation covering cabling and connections but kits will have prewired looms so the control module and motors will be plug and play.
Each door will require one cable to be cut and the two ends be connected onto two ends of the supplied loom, the only other thing will be getting a 12 volt supply to the rear to power it all.

One good thing about installing this is that the motors are supplied in the closed position so you can install it in stages if needs be and doors still work fine even when new striker plates are in and not powered or connected

Rear single tailgate at the moment but I like the idea of adding it to the single side door at a later date. Unless you think it would be more prudent to do them both at the same time.
They can be fitted singly or at the same time, the price is slightly cheaper if purchased together as all the wiring is amalgamated into one loom and the positive and negative power supply cables are pre joined to feed both modules simplifying it slightly for the installer

I just wanted to bump this thread as is seems to be the info one rather then the kits for sale.

So I am looking and there is 2 types of door controller.
The small relays with the part number 7H0959243 (the end letter seems to change)
Then the larger controller with the part number 7E0959243 (the end letter seems to change)

What is the difference between these and what one would I be needing for twin sliding door and tailgate power latching?

I assume the part number 7Ho959991 is for the actual sliding of the doors rather then the latching?

Have been slowly collecting parts for the Tailgate Soft Close build.

Parts shown on the photo:
Control module: 7E0959243E
Motorized closing plate: 7E0827511A
8-pin connector (goes into control module): 1J0972724
3-pin connector (goes into closing plate): 1J0972753

The used connectors were couple of Euros each and already have pins/wires connected - was really happy as I don't yet have the new pins or the skill to crimp them.

I also managed to get hold of a wiring diagram which seems very simple and is certainly not worth 99 Euro that Kufatec charge for it.
Will be posting all the detail as soon as I successfully connect and test.
For this I need to collect the remaining 2 pieces of the puzzle:
  1. Control module bracket
  2. Covering lock carrier
Does anyone know the part numbers for these please?

Also, I think I will need to buy 2 longer bolts cost for which is negligible: N90804705

Are the part numbers you want not in the post above yours with the diagrams on?

bracket is the same (it holds two modules 1 for tailgate 1 for side door)
The only difference on the rear strip is the foam packer underneath, it can be cut to fit

I was wondering why Kufatec would include a new one... thank you Pauly, German precision says that the part needs to be exchanged.
I think I can go with the one with the foam being cut.

Hi
I’m retro fitting a mechanical sliding door latch as my rear tail gate has one and I really like it.
and I’m wondering if any one knows what numbers the wiring connects too the bcm module please my mechanic is asking for help please.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks Ross
