Round LED Interior Ceiling Lights

Sorry, guys found an earlier post from Deaky and it seems the wiring is as follows:
Brown = permanent -ve
Red / Black = 12v timed
Brown / Red = -ve switched
so unless anything has changed, thanks again Deaky. Cheers, Matt.

Hoping you guys can recommend me some Down lights to fit in the rear of the van since it’s the last thing to order. I have several switches that I can utilise so I was thinking of switching them in 2s (will have 6 lights in total)

I've seen a few on amazon that seem reasonably priced?

Although my lighting will be fed off the leisure battery I am tempted to still have 1 light in the existing wiring, so it comes on when I unlock the van/ open a door etc. Can anyone advise on a nicer one rather than the one that comes as standard?

evening chillblaines..

so i have fitted a 2 way circuit with two switches direct to my leisure battery and fitted x6 dimatec touch led's

now i had these in my old van...and they came on with the switches...you could faff and turn on and off by touch but if you switched at switch they went off and all back on when turned on.
I have...... switch on...nothing....until pressed...
now i have tried earth switched....live switched...you can even turn the wiring around at the lamp which normally with led you cant.

any vibes....have the lights changed within....as im confused.... no baffled....same lights different van... now operate differentely..its as though i need to flip its current operation around so it works how i want.....

ideas on a postcard to.... lol....any help appreciated....simple jobs that just go wroooooong. :)

dont know hows its "exclusive" - looks like touch lights every single conversion company uses to me!

well i used to have dimatec touch ones in t5...now i buy and put in t6 on two way circuit,..as prior...they dont turn on with door swtich...have to then get in and press...annoying as hell.... faffed about...its the light setup i think... if you just put direct on a battery its same..dead till touched..
hoping the above are different...

I’m installing 6 downlighters in my ceiling. I’m thinking of terminating at the edge into a terminal block, which l can then toss behind it, once I connect to my cables from the switches.
Is this the best way to do it ?

Are you looking to bring 6 pairs of wires together for each downlight, then connecting to an additional pair which will go on to the switch?

Personally id daisy chain them, solder then heatshrink each joint to you are only left with 2 wires to go off to the siwtch....some prefer crimp connectors, but no one likes connector blocks or scotch locks!

I’m looking to install some down lights around the HiLo in the soffit. I know there are a lot of shallow cabinet lights (circa 70mm) but was looking for something a little smaller, around 40mm.

Has anyone found anything smaller than the typical ones?

Thanks in advance,

Sorry should have said diameter of the light... I worked out I will have about 50mm to recess through the soffits but trying to find something small in its diameter.

thanks guys.

I used these and they have been really good, available in a few outputs. No spring clips and only need a recess of about 15-20mm. They have a rubber part on the back that grips into the hole.

I wanted something a bit smaller than the larger style ones that are more common.

You can see the output of them here, this is a Hilo too. We have 7 in the sides and two in the tailgate.
