Dad and I had a Robin Hood EXMO for several years. Awesome fun but needed something fettling every 100 miles. In the end we passed it on to a commercial pilot friend of the family who wanted something hands on and oily to counterbalance the increasingly automated day job. It’s a Westfield SE from 1991.

I built this from scratch in 1991 from a cortina engine and front uprights that the scrap man plasma cut from cortina . It’s what I learnt to wire electrics on as it’s got a dolomite loom and instruments and the loom was about five times the length.Petrol heads will be all but gone in a generation
Ah the Triumph Dolop’osh1teI built this from scratch in 1991 from a cortina engine and front uprights that the scrap man plasma cut from cortina . It’s what I learnt to wire electrics on as it’s got a dolomite loom and instruments and the loom was about five times the length.
It was built well however I had a very tight budget as was only 21 at the time. Had a lot of guidance from a neighbour who was a retired mechanic.
The Sprint was epic but I'm showing my age now.Ah the Triumph Dolop’osh1te
I miss my Stag, 3 litre V8, real engine, not one of those Rover jobs, overdrive in 3rd and 4th, oh the burble from the exhaust, beautiful! The Sprint was epic but I'm showing my age now.

In 1972 my newly married mum and dad were about to buy a new Triumph. They had a choice, a Stag and no babies for a several years or a 1500 (exactly the same as this) and putting the money saved into starting a family.
OLP162L was bought and registered and I came along just over a year later,
My dad still reminds me he would rather have had the stag
Yes same hereI miss my Stag, 3 litre V8, real engine, not one of those Rover jobs, overdrive in 3rd and 4th, oh the burble from the exhaust, beautiful!
I had a robin hood S7. It was dolomite based, but very little dolomite left on it. It had been heavily modded with custom made rear suspension arms and modded front dolomite struts to raise the height. Then had a tuned 2.0 pinto engine mated to a cosworth gearbox onto the cosworth LSD.OT - Is that a Robin Hood?
