(Side Assist) / (Blind Spot Detection & Rear Cross Traffic Alert) retrofit

I just was reading a comparison about the Side Assists, and someone said that the 3Q0907566E 3Q0907590E (Bosch MRR-Rear) from MQB-Touran are better than the 5Q0
Yes but if they are purely MQB they won't work with T5.1/T6.

They appear as 2 real Canbus Devices.
Does PQ25 Gateway Support Address CF ?

I am not sure about address CF, have to check it out.
But 7E0 and 5Q0 are under 3C and one side is a master and the other one is a slave.

By the way, what is the main advantage of 3Q0 over 5Q0?

Dont know.
The 3Q0 is a MRR Sensor from Bosch, the same as the ACC Radar in Front.
It looks like this is a newer Generation.
And someone compared the following Sensors:
1. Place 3Q0907566E (Bosch MRR-Rear) ==> Best
2. Place 2Q0907686B (Hella RS4) ==> not so good
3. Place 5Q0907686B (Hella BSD3) ==> Bad

And the obvious question is, where is 7E0 on that list :whistle:?

I only can tell you that the 7E0 is a Model: LCA 2.0
Don't know what this means.
7E0 is a second generation system which requires ODIS calibration and VW calls it "Side Assist" system.
5Q0 is either 3rd or 4th generation which performs self calibration as the vehicle is being driven and VW calls it "Blind Spot" system.

Seems that the original T6 Gateway does not support "CF".
Below full installation list for the gateway for a MY18 T6 (screenshots just joined together).

Ok, i have to add more bad thinks about the 3Q0907566E (Bosch MRR-Rear) Sensors

- They have Componentprotection and in MQB the Gateway is the Master for this, so this will not be possible in PQ25
- PQ25 Gateway does not Support Address CF, thanks to @mmi for looking this up
- They need a static calibartion
- Generally it is not clear that they will work with PQ25

So no "easy" way for us. ==> back to 5Q0907686B

Anyhow here is the Data-sheet from Bosch:

To enable Bidirectional ABS Sensors @ the rear axis ABS Coding last Byte needs to be changed from 0x00 to 0x50 or to 0xF0 that is not Clear.
When enabling Bidirectional Sensors with Coding last Byte of ABS Coding to 0x50 or 0xF0 i get the Error:
Changed coding for the left Side to Bidirectional ABS Sensor (Last Byte 0x10)
Works like expected :D
Can you please tell me which Bit and Byte (in 03 Brakes?) exactly have to be changed? I only habe Obdeleven and there is no way to change something to 0x50 :eek:

:D
Last Byte of ABS Coding, this is Byte 18

Great thank you!
Can somebody please make a Screenshot of Byte 18 with Coding 0x50 in VCDS so I can hopefully see what there is to be done in Obdeleven

Your current coding for Byte 18 is 0x00.

So it looks like this
(00)16 = (00000000)2
and you need to change it to
(50)16 = (01010000)2
which basically means that you need to change your bits 4 and 6 from 0 to 1 ;).
