I haven't done anything apart from a scan so far as I didn't just want to clear the codes without knowing what I'm doing as this is the first time I have used VCDS.
 
You have that scan saved now so you can clear all codes, then try start the van and then run a new scan and share it here.
 
I am not au fait with vcds logs but the last line would make me charge the vehicle battery up fully first.

Would this still cause it to not even turn over at all? I have tried a jumper pack and leads and still nothing, surely I should still get something?

Thanks, I think the battery must be fooked as it is now showing just 8v, I charged it fully yesterday, so nothing at terminal 50, I'm going to get a new battery in the morning and try again.
 
That resting battery voltage does seem rather low and if you fully charged it and its gone that flat that quick then its pretty safe to say its pooped

Low battery voltages can do all sorts of weird and wonderful things to the electrical system so nothing else you can do, will be interesting to see what happens with a new batt installed

If you still get a non start situation with a new battery installed (make sure its charged) then the measurements @mmi suggested above would be a good place to start

Cheers mate, I'm also going to give all the connections to the battery a good clean as they look a bit corroded, you would have thought that with it being an RAC van they would have put a bit of grease on it.:laugh:

Can you use one jump cable, clamp one end on the engine block(or any exposed engine solid piece of metal) and the other end on battery negative terminal?
And then attempt to crank your engine.

To check the earth to the engine, I will try that now thanks.
