Soooooo I thought I had a T32

I take your point about paying a premium in the first place for a T32, so maybe suffering a loss, but your likening it to dieselgate where people got paid out when they didn't suffer any loss makes no sense.

It was the comment about getting recompense even though he hadn’t suffered a loss. Neither did the Diesel gate victims, but they got a payout. The chap with the t32/t30 arguably suffered a greater loss than those involved in diesel gate, but you suggest that it’s a “non-event”. It’s like saying someone thought they’d bought a 4 motion but actually got a 2wd, but seeing as they haven’t been stuck in a field, does it matter that it’s not a 4mot, even though they paid for it. The fundamental issue here is that the guy didn’t get what he paid for, & what it said on the tin. If it was me I’d be furious.

I see your point but I doubt the dealer would have asked for less money if they'd have sold it as a T30 also, there's a big difference between vans with different GVW's and 2wd vs 4wd in my opinion.

I'd agree that the amount of reparations may differ for those 2 examples, but the law doesn't differentiate between the 2 in terms of the approach to reparations.

No doubt, but is the juice worth the squeeze? If it were me I'd get on with my life.

The poor misguided person bought a Transporter, the road to ruin has no end!
Whatever the outcome enjoy what the van can do for you and keep it that way, man over machine.
 
It could be fixed by getting the t32 parts fitted, and getting certified for a weight upgrade. (Dealers expense). Wouldn’t cost more than £1k.

I had the opposite where I wanted to downgrade my t32 to t30 so I could get under a 3000kg limit at my local tip (waste recycling)
