Remove both wiper arms then the scuttle unclips. Just pull it away from the windscreen starting from one side.Help.....I have moved the negative cable to the headlight bracket bolt as per pic a few comments up but after looking at one of the guides Loz has done there is a ground point underneath the front plastic scuttle - how does this scuttle come off I can see no fixing points?
is it worth the effort or do you think my bracket bolt is good enough? (the BtoB still lights up so there is a circuit)
thanks guys.
There is a link to another page on the same site. Between the 2 pages it's step by step explained. Read up a bit. Thanks for the link but it just says remove, not how to. I think I will just leave it as is and have a beer in the garden hahaView attachment 70765
I was amazed how many leaves/sycamore seeds and general crud was down there so it was good to have a big clean out and clear all the drains etc.For all that hassle, might as well remove the battery and connect to the same point the battery negative goes to.
I've just realised that it appears my VB negative also goes direct to the battery negative post. Maybe the cause of my battery charge challenges?
I guess I should discuss this with my VB installer. Anyone know their approved installation configuration?
In the photo the two small black cables are my battery monitors, but the bundled brown and yellow cables behind are I believe my VB negative.

Going to rearrange my leisure earthing today. Should the bm2 be to the chassis earth too? Or is that OK across terminals?
@Dellmassive... As our resident bm2 obsessive
yes . . . you can fit a small fuse box next to the battery. (it doesnt need to be a large fuse box, but needs to carry the correct fuses etc)So just to get this clear ALL negative connections to body earth and not battery terminal. My westfalia tow bar electrics all go to the battery as does my BM2 monitor. Just as an aside I have lots of wires terminating on the positive post has anyone got a tidy solution to this?
No its a T5/T5.1 cover that I had on my previous van (purchased separately from ebay or somewhere) that I kept when I sold the van... not sure but I think there are 2 types?@Dellmassive is that battery cover a standard item on later vans ?- I don't have one of those on mine MY16.
Did it need modding to fit? Thought I read someone else’s post about it needing a trimNo its a T5/T5.1 cover that I had on my previous van (purchased separately from ebay or somewhere) that I kept when I sold the van... not sure but I think there are 2 types?
Looks like vanstyle and travelinlite might sell them.

You have to trim a T5.1 battery cover to suit T6 headlights. Took me a couple of attempts..
Very few converters can be called "specialists" when it comes to electrics. So to follow up on this a few weeks down the line, moving my b2b, bm2 and vb to chassis negative completely fixed my starter issue. It holds charge really well now.
Vw Liverpool were totally right.
Moral of the story.... NO extra connections to the starter negative. Ever. Despite what a converter / "specialist" says.
