Are you saying you leave start/stop disabled? If I turn it off manually, the error doesn’t show.Since I included a press of the start stop button into the ghost sequence I have not had this problem, and the SS is off

Yes, but I have the option to enable it if I want to.Are you saying you leave start/stop disabled? If I turn it off manually, the error doesn’t show.

Hey, sorry to hear this... try maybe these steps:
1. turn ignition on - enter ghost code
2. Turn off the ignition and try start the engine immediately after
Let
Me know if this sequence worked - it does for me.
Thanks for the update, helps all of us!Just thought I’d post an update on my original fault from back in November last year!
I've now had the van converted and had all but forgotten about the stop start, however whilst on eBay a negative battery shunt popped up for £20. Thought it’s worth a punt, and Lowe and behold it’s only bloody worked!
fault fixed!
pretty sure thinking back, I blew the original module when I connected the earth after the positive and got a load of sparks.
Mine works with the aircon on when it’s juiced up a bit. Mine takes a fair bit of driving to get the battery up to power. I’ve still got the crappy original Moll battery which isn’t holding charge too well.Have you got the air con on?
It won't work if the air con is on as it uses to much energy
At last, using her again (that'll be my T6 Campervan) and the stop-start is working fine, I think the secret is ensuring the battery is properly charged.Giving my battery a full trickle charge today, hopefully, that'll sort the stop-start not working. This blasted Covid is messing with my Campervan that's for sure
Hello,Just a quick question, i have done a 100 miles now and not once as the engine stopped, the symbol on the dash comes up with a line though it and the engine stays running. i was told that some energy from the breaking needs to build up for it to work ?
I’d go with the battery level being low, provided you’ve ruled out front de-mist, etc.Hello,
There seems to be very little logic behind this feature. Shortly after buying my new van I called up VW about this. We went back and forth, and finally the VW person said '... and there are a host of other factors involved'! That is to say, the software is very complex and most VW staff don't seem to understand it. Sometimes I drive about 50 miles and it switches off hte engine, other times even aftre 300 miles it won't switch off. So there!
Yes. My biggest issue is/was that when stopped for a longer period it wouldn't restart and you'd have to turn the key to start again which doesn't sound to bad until you have a ghost fitted and you've got to mess around trying to get it started. Glad its packed up.It is a PITA isn’t it.
