T6.1 new order delays

Just wondering has anyone ever pushed / questioned there dealer on the over allocation . I imagine dealers don’t want to inform you that they have over allocated your order and you don’t have much chance of getting a van anytime soon

We ordered on the 10 June 2021, still no sign.
Patience is a virtue they say. I’ve almost lost the will.
The full saying is "Patience is a virtue, Possess it if you can, Seldom found in woman, Never found in man." Conclusion? You're a woman?!:confused::whistle::rofl:

Well I heard from my dealer on my T32 199/204 SWB most options expect towbar

"To clarify, we have a build slot of 27/07/22 for your van, meaning we should take delivery late August / Early September."

"Since placing your order, the van has gone through 3 x price increases meaning that the vans list price today (to your specification) is £45,516.00 (net of Vat, First reg fee and Road fund licence). That’s an increase of £5,689.00"

"We have however been able to negotiate and secure a discount off the latest pricing to a new revised price of £42,615.43 (a saving of £2,900.00)"

Can live with that just about, ordered late June 21. I probably would have cancelled by now as it was meant to be Q3 2021 so I already ordered the vossen wheels for it, airride is paid and booked in with plush automotive when it arrives plus full ABT kit (bar the shopping trolley spoiler).

I have to admit who I ordered it through (Mojo VW sales and who will be carrying out the work with the Abt kit, re trimmed etc) they have been excellent in contact keeping me updated and would recommend for sure. I just want it here now

Hopefully the build slot is confirmed (Order Status 20) and not estimated (Order Status 10). I think VW shut down their production for a month at the end of that week. Keep your fingers crossed it gets built and shipped to Emden before the end of that week.

After 286 days, it’s arrived! I had resigned myself to either cancelling or selling it in, but now it’s here I’ve decided to keep it.

I’ve booked in to @The Van Cave for some magic next week, which judging by the wheel arch gap, will not be a moment too soon!

For now, I’m signing out of this thread. Good luck to all of you still waiting, I hope it’s not much longer for you.

All credit to Karen at Autoebid and the team at Listers Van Centre in Droitwich for keeping me updated and generally excellent customer service.

Only one thing left to do; a photo!

Now sitting at 15 and a half months. Just spoken to the dealer and I have got my first confirmed build date of week 33. Week beginning 15th August. Just hoping that it all goes according to plan. Looks like it will be on a 72 plate and 18 months from order to delivery.
That rather suggests VW won’t be having a summer shutdown at the Hanover factory this year. We might get a few more vans made then.

Advised yesterday that my van has now been built and is expected at the dealer's PDI centre in approx 2 weeks. (Ordered July '21, so pretty much a year.)
Just had pretty much the same news, it's now on the boat, so a couple of weeks till delivery ....10 month's of waiting

Just got an "update" email from VWCV. Nothing new to report - the email just blithers on about the same old 'chip shortages and Ukrainian situ, and that I should be reassured that "dealing with these extended lead times is our top priority".

Call me cynical, but given that, today, my order is exactly 14 months old, I don't feel reassured whatsoever.

I had an update from the converters today who have had some further feedback from VW. I'm told that my order (still at Order Status 10) has now moved back from an estimated production date of Week 36 to week 39 (26 September - 02 October). It's now 13 months since I confirmed my order with still no confirmed prouction date yet in sight. As you can imagine one is not a happy bunny.

For what it's worth, I was told that the order report (from VWCV) shows that all the estimated production dates for the DSG 4-Motion vans the converter has on order have again moved back a few weeks. It's no consolation but I was told that I'm luckier than others whose DSG 4-Motion vans will not now be produced until next year. The farce goes on.

I'm one of those  My DSG 4mo has a 'potential' build slot of wk4 - 2023 (Ordered September 2021...)
