My worry is the T7 fugly "Multivan" comes out before I get a build date and no more Caravelles, it has been so long now and no update

Funnily enough I asked for a quote from Chelmsford dealer gave me a quote rang a day later to take my order explained I had a better quote from Ipswich and hanged up abruptly didn’t even want to negotiate. Placed my order with Ipswich Vw anyways.
Ordered T30 Highline Indium + extras (led lights, heated seats etc) then given a build week of 51. Three weeks ago dealer (VWVC Newcastle) rang to say it was on the ship over. Arrived over 2 weeks ago, confirmed by dealer who’s storing it until 1st March as not booked into convertor until 2/3rd March. I must just have been lucky.
I have absolutely no idea why I didnt go to Ipswich, I bought from them in the past a T5 Caravelle 2.5 and they were very good. I do feel I am doing all the chasing, I haven't had one update call from the dealer since my deposit. Not brilliant when you spend a small fortune on a box with wheels. Especially as the salesman had a diary entry I watched him write, to call me first week in Jan, guess what he didnt call. Pity Ipswich cant take over my order. They are a fair bit closer to me too!
Dealer salesmen on the whole are all the same unfortunately.

I have a 199 4 motion panel van ordered with build week 7 and the dealer thinks and I hope it will be a 199 and not 204. The 204 will add 25kg of extra emissions sh1t fitted.
Be interesting to see as week 7 is the new engine build week - who knows?
Found Carlo at Ipswich VWVC very good...called me when he said he would etc, FYI for any future purchases from Forum members.
I ordered it on 25th November as the dealer said the price was promised not to change if ordered before 2nd December.
l wondering if vw are building panel vans first to use up the 199 before all are changed to 204 as it is obviously not a software update on the engine

I've just been told I have a confirmed week 15 build. So mid April! I'm not holding my breath!
If it’s confirmed, it shouldn’t change now. Has it changed much (build week) from your last update, apart from now being confirmed?

I've never been communicated to as a build week before because of the third party. But I was first told December then Feb/March then April may. So I guess its as per the beginning of Januarys guess still.
Ah right, that is a more murky world, as I found out myself. You’ve achieved more clarity than I ever did with my third party supplier, so if you are being given a specific build week now and that it’s confirmed, that bodes well.
It frustrated the hell out of me getting no details at all, so the contrast with my more recent experience this week since swapping to a VW dealer is stark indeed. Fingers crossed that they follow through with that, which should see it on your driveway mid May. Dealer was telling me about 4/5 weeks from build to delivery at the moment

Yeah my third party are not a huge company. My offer is one off type thing so the only reason I don't have lots of detail is that I have been given an unbeatable offer through someone as it helps their business. So I can't really hassle them as they are genuinely doing me a favour. I just hope that vw can meet their end of the bargain as it feels like they're in chaos at the moment. You hardly see any 6.1s on the road. And that can't be because of lack of popularity. It can only be a lack of supply in my mind. It's the same on dealer forecourts. There is still a huge chunk of t6s sat outside main dealers. That didn't happen on the t5.1 to t6 model change over.
This will be my second t6 from Ipswich and he’s rang me twice already in 24 hrs making sure I’m happy with my spec not in a pushy sales way but like the tpms he asked will I be changing the alloys as it might be worth taking of the order so I did as I will be in time. Got around 16% off without haggling been hassle free
Ordered my 6.1 T32 Kombi on the 20th Jan. Dealer told me early April for delivery and now he has gone radio silent on me. Reading some of these posts its making me nervous as I have a van on contract hire due to go back in May sigh.....
Have you checked with VW online chat? If you have your order number, they will be able to tell you if it has a build date yet
