T6.1 new order delays

I've just cancelled my order with a 3rd party fleet dealer after reading other peoples experiences on here. Got my deposit back. Ordered on 28th September and they are not able to provide me with any information regarding my order. They say VW are blaming Brexit and they were expecting a no deal, which in turn meant there would be less orders from the UK. Who knows

I have managed to re-order with a VW dealer via autoebid. Slightly more expensive than what I was going to pay with the 3rd party, however, at least I know I my order is directly with a VW dealer so should have less issues even if it still takes a longer time than expected.

Hi all, first post on this very informative forum. I was hoping my first post would have been showing off a new van. Unfortunately not as I have just received an email from my 3rd party company stating that VW UK have managed to redirect all but essential builds to retail. So need to start the wait again with a proposed new order via retail and a delivery of in excess of 16 weeks. Shame I sold my T5.1. Stay Safe.

Been there and done that in TE last week Kev unfortunately, so understand the frustration fully.

I reordered via Mark at Heritage in Bristol last week, but a good alternative to explore is AutoeBid who were a close second on price. Best of luck that you get a similarly decent deal and better clarity on when you’ll see a van

Was it a well known third party?
 
Followed up with VW chat last night to see if my unconfirmed week 9 had been confirmed yet. Had some trepidation as I see that a lot of Cali build dates have been moved about this week, so was partially prepared to be told it had been put back.

Not so it seems (thankfully) still week 9, but still provisional, which seems odd as that’s not far away. Although VW chat don’t seem to agree on which week week 9 actually is. Last week Debbie said it was w/c 1st March, but last night Mustapha seems to think it’s w/c 22nd Feb.

Either way, it’s not far away and a whole lot better than the lack of any detail I had before swapping from a 3rd party supplier. And still looking like I’ll see it in April

Hi Ozi. Mark told me week 16. which is a shame for me seeing as I ordered mine only 2 days after you. I did the live chat thing too And was told that it takes 2 weeks for the factory order number to register on vw,s system and then the dealership gets a confirmed build date. Hopefully it will tally up with the build date Mark has already told us

I think the difference in build weeks we have is simply down to the fact that they were existing stock orders that were in the system already, so we’ve just inherited the place in the factory schedule that they had already. Luck of the draw really, but a hole lot better that starting from scratch and looking at another 16 weeks (or more) in total.

Need to call Mark tomorrow, as on reflection I wish I’d added the LED lights to the order now. If it won’t disrupt the build week, think I’m going to ask him to add them to the order
 
The VW system seemed to have been updated on my order though. I gave them the 7 digit order number on the order form without releasing that they actually needed the 8 digit FON number. They still found it against my name, so the VW system seems to have updated, at least at the UK end.

That makes sense. Seem to recall now him saying about a couple of build slots. Definetly a weight of the shoulders having build date. My previous order was for a manual and standard headlights with barn doors.so I asked for a price for an auto and leds and tailgate. It’s going to be a camper conversion and I always regretted ordering the barndoors. The price was really good so went with it ...really pleased
 
Yes, seems quite some list of modifications, interesting that the AdBlue tank has been doubled in size, I wonder what actual difference in emissions and MPG it will actually make.
 
This is what I got from the dealer this morning:

There is a short delay as the 204ps is replacing the 199ps imminently and we are awaiting build confirmation details. So this is inline with what you guys are saying around emissions etc. So I guess this means mine wont be built until the 204 is ready. I wonder at what point I get nervous about not getting it before the 1st of June when my other van is due to be returned.
