T6.1 new order delays

If you don’t have a confirmed build week I think you can get changes made through your dealer. Is it called status 10? Then you can’t.
Status 10 is Acknowledgement but unconfirmed i.e. provisional; this in real terms is meaningless to a customer as VW can and do move the provisional build weeks in my case far too often, status 20 is confirmed build week. I think if you were to try and amend the spec during status 10 my gut feeling is it could possibly prolong the time it takes to get to 20. Just my opinion and not fact.

I know what you are feeling like @Woodman but it will work out for you in the end.
when I first started phoning around for a new van, I thought I would try the dealer that I purchased a new van from 12 years ago and is relatively local to me. When the salesman started saying rocking horse droppings, I new it was time to end the call.
Have you any other options available or are you committed to the dealer?
Hi Randolph, I am so far down the track with a really unusual combination of specs, I wouldn't dare lose my place in the queue. It's a bit like joining queues at the Payage on French motorways, there are loads of queues, you select one, the others all move, you swap then the one you move to has a car and caravan overheat and break down in front of you. I have actually turned my case into a written complaint on the basis that I have had so many provisional build weeks and not a word of communication from anyone unless chased by myself. I am informed that VW do have people that monitor social media and probably this site. It would be nice if they took heed of the feedback their customers are providing.
When I first ordered in Sept last year, I soon got an e mail telling me that my order had been placed and that I would get updates on its progress. I think that was the only update I have had. How difficult would it be for a multi billion euro company to provide customers information. The factories are robot / computer controlled run like clockwork yet they can't write a bit of code that sends the customer an update when the order is amended in the production schedule! Amazon tells me what the person picking my order from the shelves had for bloody breakfast almost! Could be something for a few quid not best part of 47 grand!
:(

Yes we have all swapped queues once in our lifetimes and wished we stayed in the same one, especially at airport check in.
Oh well @Woodman it’s your own fault for ordering obscure options like Howard and Hilda windscreen tint!!! Sorry, that was a bad joke.

I ordered Gavin and Stacey actually lol

When I ordered my Kombi I also ordered a CR 50 Crafter for our fitter. 12-14 weeks for the Kombi and 20 weeks for the CR50 I was told. Crafter turned up after 4 months, Kombi with extras anyone’s guess.

I wasn’t joking about Amazon I had an e mail to tell me the delivery of two packs of fishing hooks is running late, £5.98 Stratospheric difference in product value and customer service.

That’s a very sad but accurate comparison @Woodman !!! It’s really not difficult and Amazon have it nailed.

Same should apply to VW chat, but doesn’t seem to. Everyone I’ve spoken to there has been very helpful, but limited by how much info they have access to, which clearly isn’t the full picture and usually at least 2 or 3 days behind the fact. I just can’t see how a dealer can have access to bang up to date info (that’s my experience anyway - appreciate it hasn’t been everyones), yet VW’s own staff who are there to assist customers, have less accurate information. Makes no sense at all

Hi

I ordered my T32 Kombi 28th Feb before the price rise.
I have an order number, its been accepted by the factory and I have been told 1st Sept but not holding my breath.
I contacted my VW dealer to ask cost of changing it to 4 motion, he came back stating that the process has to start again and all costs will be at the new price levels.
It added 3.5k plus vat plus diff lock etc

Does this sound right?

After stalking this thread for a little while decided to join in..... We’ve just ordered a t6.1 panel van to convert ourselves, 150 6speed in Ascot Grey with a fair few add ons... expected delivery on the order form is 21st July, dealership seems pretty confident that’s realistic but not sure I believe them after reading this

We did get a quote from a dealership closer to us who quoted Nov delivery at the earliest... dealership we went with seems to think that’s down to them using up their allocations due to conversion companies bulk ordering vans? Guess we’ll find out for sure in the next few months!

Just had VW (Hull) on the phone, the Transporter 6.1 DSG 4-Motion I ordered at the beginning of February has left the factory and is due to land in their dealership on 23rd April.
IF that is correct that is a 12 week lead-time, not bad at all.

Hi Magnus, I want some of your luck. is it a panel van?

Hi Magnus, I want some of your luck. is it a panel van?

Yes mate, a swb DSG 4-motion panel in Pure Grey with some extras -

Diff lock
Tailgate with window and power latch
Rear camera
LED lights
Discover Media
Flaps
Rear heated wash wipe
Tyre pressure indicator
Heated seats
Bulkhead and window
Hill start
Washer fluid level indicator

I was trying not to think about it because I was certain it was going to be months and months away.
Can't wait!
:)
