T6.1 new order delays

Which port is yours going into? Tyne seems to get less frequent ships, Grimsby and Sheerness more regularly. So that may be a factor.

I also get the impression that build allocation and order prioritisation is a factor in which vehicles get shipped when. Was reading the Cali club chat earlier this week and there are examples of vans almost driving straight onto ships when cleared at Emden for export, while others sit idle on the dock.

From the outset of my second order, the dealer was adamant it would arrive around end of March. To be fair it already had a provisional build date as it was a stock order, but he was spot on. I’ve found him far more on the money than VW chat, who never seem to have up to date info.

Dunno where it’s destined for but dealer is in Sheffield so I’d guess Grimsby too. Dealer is def hoping to get it registered this month; me too!

Having just paid for it, I can now officially say I own a shiny new 6.1!!!!!!!

... although I haven’t yet seen it and won’t actually get my hands on til late May/early June.

But the challenges of actually buying one are now behind me thankfully. Camper conversion plans off track slightly due to failure of first order, but in the grand scheme of things and world events, I can live with a 2 month delay.

Sincerely hope that a few more of you here will be reporting similar positive updates very soon. Now I just been curb the spending habit of what I have informed the wife are “essential” items for said new van

I hope that means that people will start seeing vans a little sooner. Who knows the truth of what is actually happening but, like you, I'm just glad my van has finally been built and is waiting for a boat.

Plenty of inflatable boats comming accross the channel from France escorted by the French Navy! Perhaps the French Navy could do a sideline and bring vans accross on the many daily trips!!!!!!

You are very lucky to have a 3rd party still able to supply. What type of 3rd party and deal have you managed to hold on to?

I got a one off deal through someone I had dealt with in the past. They're not an actual 3rd party company dealing in loads of vans, just someone on good terms with a dealer. To be fair it's taken a while to come through. I ordered mid September.

Two weeks ago after having made a written complaint to VW the week before: I was given some vain promise that in week 12 I should get status 20 for a build week of 16...guess what still provisional week 18 and no help from my dealer to really try and reinforce my case. I am disillusioned by the whole experience and the enjoyment of buying and owning my first ever brand new (4 wheeled) vehicle is now becomming a bitter experience that I doubt I will ever want to repeat with VW. Its a real shame because I like the product. I dislike the customer service.

I foolishly thought I was ok as I had not been told a few months ago like many others had. The 3rd party said they thought that they had spoke to all. I must of been lost in the system! They have refunded my deposit. Now I am at the back of a que again after my first order was placed 6 months ago. To say I am not happy is an understatement.
