T6.1 new order delays

Just ordered a new VW Golf with a suggested lead line of about 20 weeks - will see how that goes !

I think you can track car orders online. Wish you could with vans instead of having to contact the chat every week!

Hi All
Well it all starts again. After cancelled order from 3rd party last week, Today placed a new order. Got a good price through Autoebid and actually spoke to a real VW dealer this afternoon. Now just have the wait, again !
Was the dealer in Kent? I ordered through autoebid.

Just had the dreaded phone call from my Vw dealer. My van has now lost its production slot as there is now an issue with vehicles being supplied with a factory fitted towbar. Apparently they cannot get the loom. It’s still in the system as an accepted build for the factory but no date given

After 29 weeks since order I have finally got an unconfirmed build date having had no build date for the last 6 months. Problem is it is week 39 at the end of Sept 2021, that is over 12 months since the vehicle was ordered. 204ps 4m Caravelle Exec. Somewhat frustrated

Might be my problem then I ordered a removable towbar. CRAZY to not get a bit of loom!

Wonder if the looms are made in China? Suez is going to get the blame for some of this I’m sure. It certainly won’t help with shipments of micro processors from the far east, which was already an issue.

That’s very unfortunate @SteH as I ordered tow bar prep on my van which didn’t cause a problem in build week 7 so the parts for options must be one of the major delays for van builds.

apparently they are made in Belgium the guy said, they have had every order stopped this morning with a factory towbar option. I think he was more annoyed than me

The uk have always been good with wiring applications but they probably don’t want to buy from us after brexit

Hi All, I have been checking in on this thread periodically whilst keeping my fingers crossed that I didn’t experience the same issues some of you guys have.
I ordered my vehicle w/c 7th Dec via Autoebid/JCB VW and was advised 16weeks for delivery. The vehicle was delivered to me today, so not far off of the estimate.
The vehicle spec is:
SWB Kombi 150 DSG highline
Options:
Metallic Black
Twin sliding doors
Swivel heated captains seats in front
2+1 in the rear
LED headlights
Park assist
Rear camera
Tailgate
2nd heating in rear.
From reading other people’s specs and waiting times I can’t see what it is that holds some orders up whilst others have no issues at all.

Grip.

Good for you Grip. I think it simply comes down to dealer allocations, and how open the dealer is about what they are selling you - some clearly know they have allocation for certain months and turn up as expected.

But is seems others knowingly take a deposit and order, even though they have no allocation, or not for many months. So the stock VW 16-20 weeks line gets rolled out in the hope that either the customer will just wear the delay when it inevitably kicks in, or some form of miracle will happen in the factory. The latter seldom happens of course as we know.

Good that you have your though - now get on with enjoying it. And of course post a photo!
