First step was to confirm my details and vehicle were correct .......failed at first hurdle as they seem to think I bought a Caddy!!!!!! Just been advised PROVISIONAL BUILD WEEK 22 that will be 36 weeks from order but as I said only bloody provisional so who knows, I feel like VW have well and truly pulled my pants down.

What have you ordered? We ordered less than 3 weeks ago and have just been given a provisional build week 20!

I’m not sure we did, but possibly! The dealer said all his vans were taking on average 12 weeks, anything more than 16 he said something must have gone badly wrong! I didn’t believe it at the time but starting to feel a little more optimistic.

We ordered T30 150ps Ascot Grey, no bulk head, carpet in cab, LED lights, 2x swivel single seats, reverse camera, window in tailgate... and probably other things my partner added without mentioning!
 
Welcome @C.explores and well done on your good fortune. Take a read back over the last few months on this thread and you’ll see why Woodman was surprised. Do you mind sharing which dealer, as it may assist others to find a dealer with unused build allocation. That’s seems to have been a significant factor with some order delays, and there are plenty on here with tales of woe regrading delayed orders.

Looks like you plan on converting from that spec? What are you planning?
 
And ill keep my fingers firmly crossed for you @Woodman !!!! You’re due some luck, so let’s hope you find out that yours gets built before getting to confirmed status like mine did.
 
Thanks when I heard it had gone back another 4 weeks my heart sank. I am strting to get depressed at this whole farce. For C.explores benefit, a lwb kombi Fortana Red 199 (204) DSG, Elec tailgate, NAV, led lights; rev camera; heated seats; high beam control; power latching side door; swivels, extra battery, all glass, tow bar, heated wash jets; carpet; no badges ; I reckon they are struggling to build one without the badges must be really difficult to do that!
 
I think everyone on here was quoted 12-16 weeks build time. I ordered mid Jan 21 and was subsequently told by dealer not to expect to see the van before Oct at the best! I have since been told by VW Commercial's twitter that I have a week 23 provisional build with delivery six weeks later. I took that with a pinch of salt, and genuinely think it will be next year before I see it. I firmly believe many VW dealerships have been taking orders and deposits, full in the knowledge they have no allocation left for their dealership, and fully aware of the problems at the factory. Of course they will never admit to that, and so we will never find out the truth, and like many areas of life at the mo, are hiding behind Brexshit and Covid.

I share this opinion of a dealer I used. I was palmed off with the 199 204 issue from November to March but from what I can see production never stopped. Infact it looked like a seamless transition. The issue was they over sold. He even had the front to tell me using a third party was high risk. Had he been honest I would have gone somewhere else and literally have a van on the drive now.

They source the no badges from Mars @Woodman as with your previous option. But don’t worry as a drone has been out looking for them today.

I did actually post when we ordered, but only found out today about the provisional build date - after reading every single page of this thread previously I was genuinely shocked to get the provisional date today, seems such a strange system for dealerships to have such different lead times. Fully expect that to get delayed though so guess we'll see in a few weeks if it gets confirmed.

We ordered from a London dealership.. will ask partner for exact one and post again. Our local is in Dorset, however they firstly didn't quote us a very good deal, and also said it would be October at the earliest, as seems to be echoed on this thread... Partner obviously went for for the much cheaper price and Jul estimated delivery (even if we didn't believe it).

Yes we're planning on converting - no pop top but normal kind of setup and mostly aimed towards off gridding rather than sites... will be driven to the dolomites as soon as it's finished! Hoping to do as much as we can ourselves, currently trying to figure out when we can and can't do ourselves and it's very confusing!

In my experience "Provisional" is meaningless I think I have had something like weeks; 5;;7;6;8;9;11;14;16;14; 16;18;22 with others I'm sure basically think of a number between 1 and 52 then guess the year. Pissing me off as I could have sold my current car early this year if VW were on original plan! (Anyone want a 2010 Range Rover sport v8? Replaced engine and turbos 16 k ago?)
