T6.1 new order delays

Hi All, I have been checking in on this thread periodically whilst keeping my fingers crossed that I didn’t experience the same issues some of you guys have.
I ordered my vehicle w/c 7th Dec via Autoebid/JCB VW and was advised 16weeks for delivery. The vehicle was delivered to me today, so not far off of the estimate.
The vehicle spec is:
SWB Kombi 150 DSG highline
Options:
Metallic Black
Twin sliding doors
Swivel heated captains seats in front
2+1 in the rear
LED headlights
Park assist
Rear camera
Tailgate
2nd heating in rear.
From reading other people’s specs and waiting times I can’t see what it is that holds some orders up whilst others have no issues at all.

Agree #TheNationalVWVanDealerLottery. I have one order placed in November and still has no build week. Allocation in August and delivery October best. It was totally random from a customer perspective who got a van and who didn’t. It can be explained but no one was telling us at the time that some dealers had no way of delivering vans in the situation.

It makes no sense to me @Danny1964Boy as that’s when I ordered mine and it arrived at the dealer yesterday.

We ordered a lwb panel van 150 6spd with lots of options on the 10th Feb , we have been notified by the dealer that it is being built this week and will be delivered end of April / beginning of May. Fingers crossed

And welcome @Deputy-dog you obviously found the right dealer who had some build allocation, or one in the pipeline as a stock order. Either way, well done

“It should be coming over to UK in next few days”
So that’ll have been more than 4 weeks on a quay in Germany... not the speediest shipment process!
Still I’m thankful it exists!

I just got a call from the dealer to say it actually arrived in uk today...
Their systems are def running a day or three behind reality...
Another small step for Van-kind...

Ordered a Highline panel van in October, it arrived into the UK last Friday and I collected it this morning Dealer promised a March delivery and managed it... just! Really pleased with it other than the cheap plastic gearknob

My van has barn doors, when I specced it I ordered the LED headlights, DRL's & tail lights - the van has LED headlights & DRL's but standard rear lights, will that be right? Are the LED tail lights a tailgate-only option?

I think it is yes. On the configurator if you select LED head lights and tail lights you have to deselect it if you choose barn doors

Thanks, yeah dealer estimates about three weeks to me, not prepared to commit untill it’s on a transporter to them.

So, VW sent me an email this morning asking me to complete a survey of my experience buying. Excellent I thought, there are a few points I’d like to share.

First step was to confirm my details and vehicle were correct .......failed at first hurdle as they seem to think I bought a Caddy!!!!!! Completed the option to correct it and now can’t complete the survey as they need to update their database. I’d like to say I was surprised, but given experiences thus far, it just made me laugh !!

To be fair the dealer will be getting full marks if/when I can complete it, but the monster that is VW behind the delear really does need some feedback on a few issues, this issue being just a minor one.

Oh I'm looking forward to getting one of those requests... the dealer will do also do pretty well but I wonder what they think I bought...
