T6.1 new order delays

So…….VW Chat are saying my van arrived in the UK two days ago, and my dealer has raised a transport order? Anyone know if this means it’s days away or could I still be waiting another few weeks?

Week or so at most I’d say. Could be a few days to dealer, then a couple of days for PDI

There is a post on Facebook T6/T6.1 Forum that VW are about to close all their factories due to supply chain issues. Is this fake news or very disappointing news for those with vans on order?

Picked mine up Monday night over the moon to finally have it! Had a busy day today fitting all the bits I started to collect since ordering.

I wish all the best for those still waiting but you won’t be disappointed when it finally arrives!

Not sure that’s correct.

Semiconductor supply is still an issue, but as of 2 days ago, this article suggests some impact, but not full closures and not all factories. This doesn’t appear to affect the 6.1 at this stage

"We have this morning received a bulletin from VW UK to inform all dealers that all Commercial Vehicle production has been halted due to a shortage in an electronic component to do with the air bags, they estimate the stoppage to last a week currently."

Dealer just informed me that only the standard 150 manual vans are getting build weeks atm...nothing which has been specced up is getting a build week he says.

Apparently the factory is shut due to a shortage of airbag components

Who really knows what’s going on? You read different things on different forums. If only VW would release an official statement.
