Thanks. no nothing else weird at all. Everything else is working fine and no other warning lights, other than the engine management warning came in when it stalled first time. But went off immediately after restart and hasn’t come back on.
Sadly, no don’t have a fault logger. But it’s booked in with VW, so they’ll be getting a list of issues to work through and diagnose.
It’s been trouble free since new, and sods law, just as we are approaching 3 years (end of March) this has started. Seems strange that they all occur at once - and I’m not a believer in coincidences.
Out of nowhere we got this error this evening.
It’s a 2023 T6.1 that’s covered 6000 miles.
I’m assuming it’s just we won’t be able to make an SOS call with this error. Is that the case?
Just trying to gauge the importance of the error as getting to VW during the week is difficult and I guess weekend appointments are scarce at best!

It was noted that faults in this area can impact the head unit (and potentially over the air services and updates)

Infotainment issues - Primary user & Android Auto
Hello people, Just recently bought my 2020 startline T6.1 and I'll be looking to get it to a level of going camping in it which I am very excited! Annoyingly I have encountered an issue with my head unit and the Android auto system. The issues are... 1) having no sound whilst playing music...
Bump to say that today someone did a number on my driver's side wing mirror on 71 plate (I think) T6.
So much so that I had to remove the mirror to drive home. I unplugged the main harness for the electric / heated mirrors. And the two small cables for the two boxes that are inside the mirror one is a radio antenna, not sure what the other is.
When I turned on ignition I immediately got the emergency call restricted workshop error. Also have a red light in the ceiling console next to the SOS button.

Hi my t6 has the same sos falt and is just out of warrantee. They wanted £2500 to fix something that i have never used. Heater vent was stuck only pumping out hot air. Had pay £700 to get that fixed. Thing thing is falling apart.

You will have used it while it's working as it's also how VW provide over the air software updates and navigation map updates (at least for the first 3 years of inclusive WeConnect subscription)
You seem to have unfortunately had two for the common 6.1 faults. It's certainly a vehicle it's worth considering the extended warranty on.

Apologies just realised answering another post it's not the LTE it's the GPS/GNSS antenna (got the two mirrors mixed up) but still the likely cause of the error as the SOS system can't determine your position.

I had had the same. After reading all these I opened the mirror and bottle that there are no aerials (explains the lack of radio reception, I bought it from somewhere remote and assumed it was an issue local to the area in Derbyshire). I'd try another dealer then as that fault is about an issue detected in the power supply to the module - short circuit to B+ (battery positive) - likely a fault in the wiring.
Well 2-weeks into ownership (70 plate, 29k on clock) of our T6.1 Kombi we’ve had a day of Infotainment unit restarting every few mins and then the SOS failure error
Having read this thread seems SOS unit replacement has done job for people? Contacted dealer to see what they have to say.
Has been fine, only change is earlier in week it came up with a Software Update display.
Any other suggestions gratefully received.

If you are in 2 weeks of ownership you are in the short time period (first 30 days) of your strongest consumer rights so do press the dealer for a resolution if it wasn't a fault declared during the sale.

A/C fault. Warranty?
Had t-roc since March. Hot day, turned a/c on Lo and boost. Warm air blowing through car. Rang local vw dealer (not where I bought it). Their service said a/c is a grey area might not be covered if faulty seals or needs regassing. Told me to speak to dealer it came from. Should it be covered?
