Small update. ICE install now complete after my larger crimp tool finally arrived. Just need to mess around with the amp settings a bit to get it right. The main news is that my van goes in tomorrow for its roof! woo hoo. 3 long months waiting for this. I was supposed to get an SCA 192 comfort but its still in delay from Germany. A 198 Start came available so I decided to go for it instead of waiting potentially 3 months more. Its exactly the same roof but its strap locking mechanism as opposed to the twisting handle lock the comfort has. I also lose the aluminium sliding panel that closes the gap. Im not too fussed though as the roof needs to get done before I can do anymore of my conversion so im just glas its finally happening.

OCD Alert, OCD Alert. Awoogaa, Awoogaa.
@Montecha, the speaker is upside down. You may not be able to read the writing when the door panel goes back on but it will always be there. That sort of thing would keep me awake at night. In fact this may well keep me awake at night on your behalf!

Not sure, but I think they are this way to protect the connections from moisture dripping on them, seem to remember something vaguely.. Over to you @xpfloyd , but great thread m8! Keep it up, and enjoy the process, it's very rewarding

@T6 Dave @DaveyB - Thats correct. The dynamat goes over the full hole then you slice the bottom to retrieve the cable. The speaker then goes in upside down so that the connections are at the top. The dynamat then forms a weather seal as its not open at the top. Got that tip from absolut5

Aha.. Your of the severity that you have to remove and reinstall the badge the other way up then...., although to me it reads.. NERTZ..

@DaveyB i didn't want you to suffer mate so I popped the door cards off and re-attached the speakers the right way up. Honest :sneaky:
Oh thank you so much, I was not looking forward to spending the night tossing and turning seeing those upside down speakers in my mind. You're a gent!

VW had screwed the original ply lining directly into the steel!!! so I have now red oxide primed all the holes (theres a lot!). When I glue the 9mm sub floor down with sikaflex I will fill the holes

Using the 6mm ply lining that I removed from the van (full height lining) I made templates and cut new templates ready to be drilled and carpetted. I have got mega van mats hidden clips to install them with

This weekends job is to carpet line the van. Time permitting I may also cut the template for the floor, lay the 9mm sub floor, fit the 12mm floor and lay the altro.
