Problem fixed by changing byte 16 to D0
Yes that is correct.
Well done!
Your Byte 16 originally had all possible PWM (pulse width modulation) for front lights switched ON ( bits 0 - 3 ).
By modifying the value of Byte 16 from ?F to ?0 you have effectively deactivated this feature completely.
PWM switched ON( particularly bit 0 - low beam, bit 2 - DRL & bit 3 - high beam) won't allow OEM LEDs to operate properly.

The only issue i can see atm is the drls dont shut off in daylight when i put the indicator on, also coming home lights turns on drl and dipped beam, can that be changed to drl and fog?

LED/DRL fine tuning
Byte 23 bit 4 - when ticked DRLs turn OFF when hand brake is ON
Byte 23 bit 7 - when ticked DRL/DRLs turn OFF when blinker or emergency lights are activated

Cornering
Byte 12 bit 6 when ticked corresponding fog light switches ON when steering wheel is turned approx. 90°
Byte 21 bit 2 when ticked corresponding fog light switches ON when indicator is ON and speed is below approx. 25mph

Leaving Home & Coming Home
Byte 10 bit 1 - when ticked activates LH
Byte 10 bit 2 - when ticked activates CH
Byte 13 bit 6 - when ticked LH & CH work with low beam and when unticked LH & CH work with fog lights

Almost there with mine.. just waiting for VW to sort out an issue with the RHS light... I've now returned two due to the control boxes screw boss's being cracked.. all swiss imported RHS lights are the same.. :-( so its gone up to germany to be sorted.. so my install is paused..

Hello,
just got VW to deliver me a light that isnt damaged...so i can move onto the install..

can i just check that this is correct:

Byte 18 bit 0 1
Byte 18 bit 1 1
Byte 18 bit 2 0
Byte 18 bit 3 0
Byte 18 bit 4 1
Byte 18 bit 5 1
Byte 18 bit 6 1
Byte 18 bit 7 0
Byte 21 bit 0 1
Byte 22 bit 2 0
Byte 22 bit 4 1
Byte 23 bit 5 0

Byte 16 bit 4 0

and i was going to do this one too:

Byte 23 bit 7 1 LED/DRL fine tuning

I see everywhere that Byte 18 isnt to be modified but im guessing in this case it must be ok right :)?!

So im going to try this and do the coding with OBD11 - @mmi i may have some questions for you if i get stuck if thats ok...!

just a quick question: which plug on the bcm are the new wires to go to? i cant find it specified here? BCM B - is this the black or white plug?!

@Pauly @Robert @mmi ?

thanks in advance

Hello, quick question.. im in a bit of a pickle..
Installed the lights and am just cabling up the 26pin plug...
pins 2 and 3 of the plug are supposed to go to 19 and 18 of the BCM B plug - for me these are already populated - is this normal? If yes im guessing i need to splice into them?
if no...?!
@Pauly @Robert @mmi @Flyingspanner

its tight for space so any tips welcome!

Yes it is normal.
Your BCM is already connected to your vehicle CAN network.
But it is much easier to connect your lights range controller CAN wires to your PDC module.

you can connect to any canbus pair you can access as long as the wire colours are the same
I would agree with @Robert that the cables on the PDC module are probably the easiest to access

ok thanks for that - what is the PDC module..? So i can conect pin 2 and pin 3 of the 26pin plug to the PDC module right?

i just need to know what that is :) and what pins to use.. is this the parking sensor module? I only have rear sensors for info..

thanks in advance :)

It is your Parking Distance Control module.
CAN wires are striped orange and twisted together, you won't miss them.

Ok I'll have a look and try to find two striped orange wires.. @Pauly when you say pair you just mean any two right?

I do see a pair of orange twisted wires in the 2nd pic - i have no idea where they come from or go to though..!
