That's certainly an option. VW dealer should have tools to rectify this, however not all of them necessarily have the expertise.
@Pauly - I found in my notes that VCP probably has a proper dataset file "t6_lwr_6R0907357c.zdc" ;)
I’m not sure if any dealers in the UK would take a module in to fix

Update: Called TPS this morning they can order a module (back order) 1-2 weeks, but they need a reg number as it has to be coded to your specific vehicle.
I’m assuming that I could give them any reg from a T6 that has OEM install of LEDs or would it need to be same spec, 4motion?

They’ll want your reg number to distinguish which variation of the range control module you need — as the same part is used by other VW models, Passat being one of them.

If you search one of the online parts catalogues for a 2019 Transporter, the range control module is listed as

6R0907357CZ08

And I believe it’s the ‘Z08’ suffix at the end which distinguishes it as the correct part for T6.

Thanks for this ched.
Had a long chat with @Pauly this morning and I’m going to be sending the module to him as he knows a man who can hopefully re-code it.
But I will keep this noted just in case!

That’s good news - hopefully that will get it sorted for you.

Please report back how you get on, as I too purchased a used range control from eBay and could run into the same issue when I come to do this retrofit soon.

Cheers

You should be fine, as long as the unit ends with a “C” as in @Roberts original spec list (page 9)

I have bought a few new and second hand modules and they have always operated as soon as plugged in even if the coding etc was blank, it’s a bit weird that this one won’t operate at all ?

It’s strange that it’s missing info, can only assume it’s been flashed but then that raises the question why ?

I emailed the seller today with the error listing.
shall see what comes back, currently sat in van still trying to work out why it’s misbehaving:confused:

Maybe some maniac was doing dodgy experimenting with this unit

Well it appears I might have solved the problem Bit 16 changed it to D0 hopefully that’s done it..

All I need now is some advice on how to set them manually while waiting on the RCM as they are pointing up quite a bit and I don’t want to blind oncoming traffic!!
Just a rough idea of distance of van from a wall height from ground please.

Hmm... check your cornering light behaviour - C2 might work better?

Earlier notes of the coding were here:

Hi all,

New member here investigating the upgrade of my Halogen unit to LED unit on my B8 Passat. Does anyone have experiencing doing this upgrade for the Passat or able to point me in the direction of a guide please? :)

Passat forums are relatively quiet so I can't seem to find what is required, both in terms of method and / or any other requirements e.g. Self-Levelling wiring.

Also - just a side point, is self-levelling actually tested at MOT? ;)

Thanks in advance

Perhaps a stupid question, for the sc30 feed can an empty slot be used instead with a 0.75mm crimped cable to fuse terminal to power the range control unit or is it best to splice into existing loom to sc30 fuse slot?
