Does your wheel and Tyre combination still fit in the spare tyre carrier under the vehicle?
Yes, the 225/65R17 ko2’s fit in the spare tyre carrier fully inflated, anything more than this Diameter would need adapting the mount.

I worked off the 50 mm O/A rule for both that was in place at the time.

My Transporter that i ordered new came with 215/60R17 from Factory, so with the new tyres i got a 17.25mm height gain.

does your tyre card decal have the 17 inch option on it? if so then you can use that as your base
Yeah it does.

I just noticed that the vin decal is incomplete and not showing the weight details. This isn't normal right?

So I picked up my new Van yesterday and it came with Barn doors even though I didn't order them. I kind of thought, ok it's not a big deal, I had considered them but wasn't going to pay extra for them so getting them might be a bonus as they do have advantages over a tailgate in some situations especially as this is my work Vehicle.

But I just have found out the standard issue blind spot sensors are removed if you don't have a tailgate. My van doesn't have any rear side windows in the back so I can't just check my blind spot by looking over my shoulder. I'm going to complain but I'm not really sure there is much that can be done about it.

Does anyone have the blind spot sensors and barn doors on their van? Or is that impossible?

Guys, which sound deadening insulation do you guys recommend for local purchase here in Australia?

And how much should I be buying?

Hi all - I need to install some tie-down rails onto the floor of my Transporter SWB Crew.

Preferably without removing the stock black spongey matting.
Is there any way I can use the existing floor mounts near the rear and under the rear crew seat ?
Or can I screw straight down through the matting ?

My skill level is well under my ambition I feel...

I just picked up my new T6.1 4 Motion camper van. Took 11 month to get it to Perth. It spent 2 month in Sydney on the way to have it fitted out. But at the end of the day it arrived on schedule as indicated last December when I ordered it.
In a couple of weeks I will have the suspension raised to make it more suitable to Australian bush travelling. Tyre change will follow later.

Hi from Stanthorpe Australia QLD.

About to upgrade the work van and swap over from a 2017 ford transit custom 340lwb to a t6.1 tdi450 lwb transporter. Are there any tradies, particularly electricians or refrigeration mechanics on here using the transporter?

Im keen to see what shelving / ladder rack / conduit pipe carrier setups people are running in their transporters.
I will add a photo of the current van I have, and when the new one arrives I will add that too.

Have a look at the "work van Wednesday" thread.

Hi @AussieMick …. Where staying at Joondalup Perth and just got back from Mandurah today…not venturing far ….been to Mundaring Weir ( stunning location )….but we’d love to do an Outback adventure next time we come…this is only a short stay…..The weather and the people are amazing….not used to only doing 100kph on the Highways…..Given the chance I’d move to Australia tomorrow…..Going back to a very cold UK doesn’t inspire me…

Ps… the fuel is half our prices…What’s not to love :)

Volkswagen Australia seem to have removed all the 4Motion option Transporters and Crafters from the Build your own section of their web site.
Is it a glitch in their programming or are they telling us something. Is it the same in UK?
