My new bad boys that will be here next week:)

Yes I know they are the same Amaroks that I'm running now, but I've opted for wider rears on this latest set, which is hard to pull off without some major poke, but if my calculations are correct and I do hope they are, these puppies should look pretty sweet hanging out the rear of my T6....

Obviously they still need to be powder coated in my normal Chrome.

Hi all,

The pics are great and lovely looking machines too. Could a newbie (me!) ask that people add some info about the wheel and tyre sizes?

Thanks,

JOG

You will find that the most popular sizes of tyres are purely restricted to the load rating of the T6 they are going on, and most will run 255/45/18 on Amaroks, and 255/45/19 of 19" Range Rover steels, simply because they will be rated high enough for a T32.

The "clunk" you heard was a penny dropping about load rating!

This is an envy-inducing thread, I must admit!

If it helps alleviate some of the envy, the Amarok steel is almost impossible to get hold of now, with very little stock coming into the UK and what does arrive is already sold to places like Duchy, Tamar, Stitches/Steel and many other companies that have realised these wheels are in really high demand. Plus 100s of people have certain keywords on eBay saved, so anything related to 18" steel, Amarok steel, banded steel is pretty much snapped up instantly.
I've sold several sets of Amarok steels and they sell on here literally within the hour.

At the risk of ridicule..........I just put a set of 17" alloys with CrossClimate tyres on my Cali as it came with 16" on old Cargo tyres! But, as a middle-aged old fart, I'm not in my Cali to look cool/flash/street/whatever...........so, I'm a bit more "factory". That said, I like looking!!!

Lovely stuff.... you gone 9.5” rear like the ones I had off you and 9” front or staying 8.5” front mate?

I've ordered a set of 9.5s and 8.5s. I tried my current rear 9s on my fronts and that catch on mine with it being so low, so the 8.5 fronts will tuck nicely. I'm just hoping the 9.5 rears achieve what I want.

I think the 9.5” rear with 8.5” front will look schweeet! Look forward to the pictures!

First Post! Waiting on my 8.5 9's from duchy. Question. Tyre sizes either 235 50 18 or 255 45 18? Will be sitting on solows

So my new wider banded Amaroks turned up last week and are now fitted. Going 9.5 rears is only possible when running really low on a static set-up if you slightly stretch the tyre. Running what most run on these wheels, 255/45/18 won't work because it will just catch and rub the inner liners like crazy. So i've gone for 235/45/18 all round and the rears sit absolutely spot on.
On the tyre note, I was running Michelin CrossClimates, but decided to go for Goodyear Vector 4's on these latest wheels, due to not being overly impressed with the initial traction in the wet on the Michelins, however.... The Goodyear are exactly the same, with my traction light flickering on and off under throttle in the wet, all the way up to 3rd gear, so i'm going to blame the Revo and TVS for this, though it's not a complaint i'm going to moan about for obvious reasons:devil:

In fairness to the Michelins, they are actually quieter than the Goodyears, but I prefer the look of the Goodyears.

I know it's hard to tell the difference between 9" rears and 9.5" but that extra half inch added to the dish makes a huge atheistical difference on mine and it's exactly what I wanted, so i'm chuffed to bits with Jamies work yet again. Also worth mentioning that all but 1 wheel needed no weights to balance, and the single wheel that did, needed 15grams, which is testament to the quality of the banding work, plus obviously good quality tyres.

Following you round on the forum...
you know my thoughts on your van and the banded steels look! Looks fantastic.

I’m going to say it and I know everyone is going to cry about it... but those tyres look so much better stretched with that profile. Also the edge of that rim sits lovely on them!
