I'll take that. I think I've finally found the sweet spot, for dipped beam at least.

If I want to fit HIDs to my THQs and can't be bothered reading 48 pages is this the one to buy? Is there any disadvantage to HIDs over LEDs?For those that haven't seen my earlier posts, I've gone for 35w, 4300k.

I am the same so a set of these in the THQs and the work out the box without warning lights or changing setting in the ecu . This for h4 standard set up on my van at the moment .If I want to fit HIDs to my THQs and can't be bothered reading 48 pages is this the one to buy? Is there any disadvantage to HIDs over LEDs?
THQ V2 with HID bulbs fitted today- not as tricky as I might have thought and even managed not to break anything.. first thoughts are it’s a big improvement, I haven’t driven at night but will take a couple of pictures when I do. I need to find someone with VCDS to get main and dipped on together but dab works fine and no bulb warning. Overall I think thq lights are pretty good as a unit, the fit was spot on. I tidied up the wiring a little but will just keep and eye on it. I bolted the ballast to the battery divider on the passengers side and doubled sided taped it on the drivers side- see pics. I also noticed the round plastic washer thing that came with the bulbs is a cutting template for the rubber cover which worked really well. Huge thanks to @dubber36 and @Mikem for blazing the trail on this one!

Looking good, let us know your thoughts when you try them at night?
Dipped is very bright- almost feel it’s too good! Main beam is fine but pretty yellow in comparison. I went past quite a few cars and didn’t get flashed or hear any crashing noises...
1st photo is dipped and second is full beam- sorry they are sideways!

Looks great, no dark spot in front of the bumper, like the H4s.
I think the THQ projectors control the cut off and beam pattern really well, so, although really bright, it's such a clean, defined pattern that you don't annoy other road users.
I'll watch out for you changing the mains to LED soon, you can't live with the yellow for long!
Very interested in these budTo anyone who might be considering the upgrade to THQ headlights, I'll shortly have a set of mint condition V2 (with the dynamic indicators) with Philips Ultinon LED bulbs for sale. They'll be available shortly after Christmas, once I've fitted my OEM LED headlights. I'll be looking for £300 with the bulbs, £250 without. I'll also post in the for sale section.
Sorry fella, but I have a buyer and a reserve lined up already, you’re 3rd in line though!Very interested in these bud
There's two things I notice in that picture:It’s definitely a sharp cut off.. I think you’re probably right about the next mwhat’s involved in the LED H1 change? Is it possible without the removing the bumper?

Thanks- I’ll have a look at that, I did notice the line type shadow in the near side light.. in simple. I was going to find a moment to check for myself from outside the van how it would effect oncoming cars. In addition to switching the bulb orientation I’ll angle the whole unit down a bit..There's two things I notice in that picture:
- The orientation of the n/s bulb inside the holder must be wrong as you can see the shadow of the thick wire that runs to the end of the bulb
- The beam pattern is not supposed to join the lower cut off from the n/s light beam against the higher cut off from the o/s beam. If you're going around l/h bends you'll be blinding oncoming traffic with your n/s light (just because you've not been flashed it doesn't mean oncoming drivers have not been dazzled)
