Turn off Stop / Start

    . pretty awesome. As far as I know there is no way to do it via VCDS (actually there are 2 tuts.. one is changing some battery voltage value, second has got something to do with temperature...but not sure if that is the best way to do it..... unless the guy that posted that, knows that it does not have any side effects... I am not an vw software engineer jet :) )
But I am gonna check Your work / check the schematic diagrams..... but I think THIS tutorial.. is the easiest one... no need to spend anything, just time...
thanks
great job.

The voltage and temperature methods are no good for us as the channels are not on our gateway.
There is a hardware option that connects to the button that some have done.

Stop start cuts out my amp which is very annoying. I’m a button presser but would love a coding solution.

What amp have you got @Blitz ? I had this problem with a JL Audio, using DC offset to turn it on. I changed to signal sense and it’s perfect now

Hello all, iv just got my T6 and the stop start is already driving me mad, has anybody found a fix to this ? or has anybody used one of the bits of electronics you can buy on ebay ? a hungarin one for £28 or a german one for £105 ?? the later looks a lot better but the instructions for the cheaper one are good. thanks for any help

It can be turned off electronically using software called VCP thats how i have done mine, i know this is not really helpful to you here and know but i will take it to shows with me this year (bala/camperjam/busfest etc) so if anyone wants it doing at any of these shows just let me know

Thank you svitky! I’m glad that someone appreciatets my efforts here. Let me know if you have any questions.

Regarding Jay Mcc’s reply, this is a DIY post. You can fing the instrutions in the beginning of the thread. The electronic boards from e-bay work the same way and involve the same effort. The hardest part is to take the button out.

@Pauly book mine in at camperjam mate for turn off. Can you do some other coding too for me ? The usual sexy stuff

Hi guys
Is there a way to stop this auto stop/start it’s driving me mad
Can I pull the fuse on it ? Or is it connected with something else

Hi Roman, I found your post on the start stop issue fasicinating, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna give it a go, but can I just ask, when you use your method does the start stop symbol still come up when you’re stopped, (at traffic lights for instance), in place of the gear/neutral/part indicator ?
I’ve just disconnected to sensor wire from the battery and it’s got rid of the start stop function, but in doing so whenever I’m stopped at the lights the symbol comes up in place of the gear indicator stopping you seeing the  neural or (D) drive indicator, which I find very frustrating. So I wondered if your option get round this ?
Thanks in advance

Yes Carl. The icon disappears and never appears unless you activate the system by pressing the button after start.
Dissconnecting the sensor is not ideal as it sets trouble code in the ECU and it will probably limmit other functionality as well as the Start Stop.
My method seems to be the cheapest and safest option as it doesn’t interfere with the ECU programming or needs expensive circuit boards delivered from overseas.
Reconnect your sensor and clear the system code. Run the wire from my guide and you will see. Works like a charm.

Hi, is it possible with VCP, to adjust the delay after stationary before engine stops? It would be easier to live with if it waited maybe 3 seconds or so. Also it is bad that in RHD vehicles, at least in my Australian Transporter, that the button is so far away. Makes it awkward/dangerous to quickly turn it off when you see a situation happening in traffic where you don't want engine to stop. Would be nice if cancel was on stalk/button on steering wheel.
Cheers.

According to the user manual, one of the conditions that prevents the start/stop operating, is the bonnet being open.

Would a simple solution be to simply intercept this circuit at the bonnet switch and either permanently make or break the circuit accordingly.

But then the alarm wouldn't set/work & you would have a permanent door open warning on the MFD
