What Have You Bought Today?

I went for the EE network only because we were going to do the Islands, and as the Emergency Services 4G provider I understood that they had the best network in remote places, we certainly had an EE signal more often than O2 and Voda.

But if going abroad then Smarty is certainly one we would look at.
In my previous life before I retired I was part of the team on the Emergency services network when EE won the contract. They certainly left Voda behind who I dumped last year. Surprisingly O2’s coverage was the best in the UK before EE won that contract but not anymore.

Fuel lagoon front wrap-a-round cover and thermal screens delivered today, ready for the summer.

Some of these as my rear number plate fixings sit right in the middle of a digit and are currently yellow with a faded/washed off black permanent marker to try and make them black

So I will use black ones and do it properly

Popped to Go Outdoors came out with a few unplanned things and not what I went in for ….Doh.

Cadac Cook 2 Pro Deluxe on a WOW Deal Offer
Took advantage of the Extra15 discount and got the hose attachment for cartridges and gas cartridge for total £122.80 which seemed agreeable to my tight wad nature . Plus some other assorted unnecessaries as usual

Edit…..the more observant of you will notice I was a bit of a plum and bought the wrong canister…this has now been rectified at store with man point reduction obviously.

€375 Eurotunnel ticket (one way flexi from France to England). Had a flexiplus return ticket and it was a five day stay one.

Never travelled on one of them five day things before and ended up staying an extra day - assumed it could just be amended like when you turn up on a peak day and pay the extra. Nope.

Expensive mistake my end as it was only £100 more to do a normal flexiplus return when I made the booking last week.

So in total effectively £380 to get out and then €375 to get home.

@archersam we thank you for your service.
Not quite the same but the airfare added at Luton for our "wrong sized" carry on luggage was more expensive than our tickets for the long haul journey to Glasgow.
At one stage the Cheesyjet gals portable swipe machine showed £112 something which very nearly prompted an outburst of Tourettes however dialling that back as it wasn't their fault the actual additional fare was two lots of £19.99 with an upgrade to "speedy bastards" included so now I've been on the receiving end of the third class passengers "stink eye" I always reserve for these types.

Oh yeh I forgot I also bought a van x glovebox cover so let’s see the quality and how it looks when it arrives.

That the magnetic one? Looks good, but I'm unsure on the practicality.
Yeh that’s the one. I don’t m use the space for anything at moment so having a cover that means I can hide things behind it will be better than having it empty - let’s see :)

Got a gloss black one so hoping it matches the other trims I’ve had done or else off to the body shop it will go ha ha

After much faffing, have pushed the button to order Dodomat’s medium van kit for sound deadening / thermoliner. Plus all the accoutrements for application. Here’s hoping I’ve also ordered the correct size/colour/length panel clips from EBay when I inevitability break some in enthusiasm/ ineptitude!
Going the B&Q route for recycled plastic bottle insulation.

A cordless soldering iron from Australia. Runs off my DeWalt battery (they do versions for other battery packs). It took 5 days from Oz to my local delivery office and then 10 days to do the 3 miles from there to me ).
