As a general rule, I don't think insurers given enough discount for people who take vehicle security seriously, much like they don't give enough discount to those with advanced driver qualifications. Those b*stard insurers!!Hopefully reduce the insurance? Where's our insurance correspondent @Bav when you need him?
Well said!! I still hold or have held the following….much like they don't give enough discount to those with advanced driver qualifications. Those b*stard insurers!!
Yer! So there!!!Aah, they look like posh door cards off a caravelle. Not like the crappy hardboard stuff in my van.
Sadly, 'tis true - insurers should be actively encouraging and rewarding continuous driver development. There are far too many for whom passing the standard driving test is the pinnacle of their driving ambitions.Well said!! I still hold or have held the following….
HGV 40+ years
Emergency Fire Appliance Driver (EFAD) qualified
EFAD Instructors ticket
Blue Light Response Driver qualified
Blue Light Response Instructor ticket
ROSPA Gold Standard Advanced driver
And over 44 years driving experience.
Counts for bugger all according to the insurance companies.

From leaving school at 15 and 4 years apprenticeship and 1 year as grade 1 fitter, then at 20 years and 4 months old I went into the domestic gas industry. They hired 'em young back then!
@Martinw. What insurance company? My insurance sent me a little tracker in the post and insisted I fit it to the van
Bought these wolfrace x10x the other week but had the tyres fitted yesterday at Costco. Very pleased with my alloy choice, just needs lowering next . A side note I highly recommend Costco for tyres, their fitters are the best I've come across, they even tried to swap the VW centre caps from my old wheels (without me asking) now that's attention to detail. They didn't fit sadly but at least I know that now. Just little things that show they take a interest in their job , unlike most fitters I've used before.
