I had the He's coded before and the light turned off when I had aftermarket hid bulbs, just need a time when I can actually get to someone who has it local

Have you taken the van for a good run to make sure the starter battery is properly charged? When I did my headlights and fitted LED DRLs I got the warning light initially. Took it for a run and have never had the warning return (2 1/2 years later). The battery must have got a bit low with doors open etc while I did the headlamp swap plus the change in bulb resistance. Charged up and a restart obviously was enough to reset it. Maybe worth a try if you’ve not been for a drive yet.

In all seriousness, I think it would be worth having. I just need a decent laptop

I don't think VCDS needs much laptop processing power. I run mine on a very old netbook that I leave in the van.

Ah really? That's good to know. I do have a powerful desktop PC in the house, but since the mrs moved in the house is a lot fuller, I'm going to look at a normal laptop then.

Just gone for a drive, no light on.

I have auto lights on mine, went under a tunnel, light came on again

100% recommend VCDS, apart from the wheel size adjustment which I needed to do I've done loads on mine, big speedometer, dial sweep, auto lock when driving, extra washer wipe, turn off drl when indicating...

I had deaky do bits to mine, but that was when my van looked a lot different.

I had

Big speedo
Lock on driving
Tear wipe
Dial sweep
Alarm beep on lock/unlock

Didn't know about drl's, that's decent

It’s really good. Great for getting into tight awkward places like around the seats and between the cali rails.

Doubles up as a hair dryer and an inflator as well. Currently £17. Recommended.

Update on the vacuum cleaner:

Came back to the van after a stop off, van full of smoke and a horrible plastic burning smell, found the vacuum USB cable on fire! I left it plugged in.

Any longer and we’d have to walk the rest of the way.

Think that’s the wrong fitment. You may well want the round P21W type. Worth double checking to see what’s fitted now though as there do seem to be some variations.

I ordered like a good T6 spender on your recommendations. Interesting Amazon immediately refunded saying could not be honoured or whatever.

Anyhow, has turned up today?! I’ll probably throw away for fear of burning house/ van down

I have these on my T6.1 Tailgate. They actually light up where you are reversing.
