I've looked at your battery post twice, but think it's too big for my cabinet. What you need is a nice second hand 200Ah lithium battery! And solar!

'Tis a big bugger!I've looked at your battery post twice, but think it's too big for my cabinet.
I kind of wish I never put my battery charger in and went for an mppt and panel on roof instead. I still want one, I've found a 305w panel and mppt with all wiring for £349. All victron stuff

That depends on power usage.200+Ah of LiFePO4 and a big old solar panel is the way to go! You won't need EHU unless you're on a site for a week with no sun!
Yeah, if you share the van with someone like my wife who is happy to fill a kettle and use the 2000 watt induction hob, that's only 10 cups of tea before empty! That depends on power usage.
True, obviously if you're using coffee machines and air fryers and hair dryers and induction cooking every day then I don't think any solar would keep upThat depends on power usage.
Buy a decent gland rather than the crap, huge, cheap ones. It is after all the thing that keeps the water out! Scanstrut are fantastic.
Standard T6 roof, no pop top. I think being realistic, solar will be next year if any. This year I've got to pay for a weddingIs that the 305w rigid Victron panel? And have you got a pop top that's quite flat? The std T6 roof has quite a lot of curve to it, in both directions and the std mounting brackets don't really sit well with it. If your roof is flatter it's be better.
Oh yes! Forgotten that!Standard T6 roof, no pop top. I think being realistic, solar will be next year if any. This year I've got to pay for a wedding
Take the time and have a look at the options, with the curve in the roof with the 305w Victron panel there was about an inch or more gap at the front and back with a central mount. I wasn't happy with just mounting it with 4 corner mounts, if you're drinking the roof then it'd be fine but I didn't want too drill anything.Standard T6 roof, no pop top. You're forgetting the toaster and the hot water system too.True, obviously if you're using coffee machines and air fryers and hair dryers and induction cooking every day then I don't think any solar would keep up
At that point you should probably just say '**** it' and crowbar in a 500AhYou're forgetting the toaster and the hot water system too.
I've got the perfect location for one - I just need someone to release a version that fits perfectly around the rear wheel arch, my boiler and my water filter! At that point you should probably just say '**** it' and crowbar in a 500Ah
Potentially a limited market?!I've got the perfect location for one - I just need someone to release a version that fits perfectly around the rear wheel arch, my boiler and my water filter!
My existing setup does have leisure battery charging when on EHU however it is only suitable for lead acid batteries and I have just upgraded to a LiFePo4 which has different charging requirements and would be damaged by using anything other than a lithium specific charger.Again just educating self, why would folk have a battery charger permanently installed? Does an EHU preclude this need? Eg you just plug that in an that charges LB?
Yeah, I was getting confused I think. I installed a Victron ip22 in place of what was there prior to allow LB lifepo charging when on EHU. I’m still getting head around all the terminology. But learning which is greatMy existing setup does have leisure battery charging when on EHU however it is only suitable for lead acid batteries and I have just upgraded to a LiFePo4 which has different charging requirements and would be damaged by using anything other than a lithium specific charger.
I don't expect to use it often as we have solar and B2B, but there may be occasions when it needs a boost, so hopefully, the noise won't be much of an issue.
The new versions are quieter too apparently "Fogstar Drift Chargers V3.0 - Now includes a temperature-controlled fan that intelligently activates and deactivates as required, ensuring optimal conditions and significantly quieter performance."
