What Have You Bought Today?

Now I have the tanks underneath, need some accessories.

The hose and filler cap are just for filling at home, works a treat.

The funnel is 3d printed from ebay. I had to cut 10mm from the length, as the filler pipe connected to the inlet is at a very acute angle because of the location. Very neat and a good quality finish, no leaks when filling from a container, so will keep this in the Towbox.

Never been to Benidorm either but really should at least try it I suppose .
At £499 that's damn cheap! .

I recognise the funnel - we have a similar one for our Nexa, and the same couple also printed one for our previous motorhome. Great service!

Trim removal tools. Add that to the gloss black trims and grille bought yesterday. Oh and a syringe and hose to remove some excess oil which popped up as a notice on the dash the other day. Guessing I've been unlucky with regen timings.

Just pre ordered a Fogstar Drift charger to complement my 105ah LiFePo4 I got from them before Christmas. It will be permanently connected under the seat and plugged into 240v as and when required. View attachment 272400
I understand they are pretty noisy if that might be an issue for you. If it is the Victron ip65 is fanless and totally silent, but considerably more expensive.

Again just educating self, why would folk have a battery charger permanently installed? Does an EHU preclude this need? Eg you just plug that in an that charges LB?

I've got a victron battery charger connected to my 240v fuse board for when on EHU, it just allows me to have all my 12v electrical running without draining my LB.... it's always been a wprry

EHU just provides 240v into the van. If you want it to charge anything (LB or SB) you need a charger in the system. Some complete systems (e.g. CBE) may have one included. A custom solution will need one added such as a Victron ip22.

I haven’t fitted mine (cables installed but not the charger) as I find the solar does the job with the DC-DC topping up if needed when driving. The whole point for me was to be off-grid and avoid EHU whenever possible.

So a Victron ip22 wouldn’t charge the LB? But does let you use the 240v plugs? Is this correct interpretation?
No. It’s a charger.

Think of EHU as an extension lead to provide 240v into the van (via a fused consumer unit) from the campsite supply. You then plug or permanently wire what you need into it.

No pal.

There's mine.

I have a 2 way 240v fuseboard connected to the EHU. 1 mcb does the 240v sockets in the van for when on site and the other powers the victron charger on the right. That then charges the LB which runs the 12v electrics.

I kind of wish I never put my battery charger in and went for an mppt and panel on roof instead. I still want one, I've found a 305w panel and mppt with all wiring for £349. All victron stuff
