They go down much lower than mine. Hmm will try again later, I think maybe I am taking it too easy in fear of damaging the replacement metal pins.

I have just fitted the polished custom vee dub door pins. I did start to think that something was going wrong, the original vw pins are probably 35mm long, so seemed to be unscrewing them with a pair of pliers for a lot longer than I expected.
New ones screwed on & look good

The van is for the now whereas the beetle is for when I retire, save me having nothing to.

There she is in the background, towel rail bumpers are in the garage as they are so bloody rare.
