What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Couldn't find them in the UK without paying a fortune.... So got them off AliExpress.

Was a bit dubious about them as they ship from China, but happy with the quality... Same as the OEM ones at a fraction of the price.

I stripped the old burnt stinky carpet off the woodwork from my old van and then covered it in new carpet for my new van! (yet to arrive). My lovely girlfriend also picked up a parcel from the post office for me (again stuff for the van I don't have yet).
Taken front seats out and fitted leisure battery under the drivers seat from the cupboard and wired up the heated seats. job of the day.

Are they aftermarket heated seat pads or have you upgraded the seats and doing a factory OEM setup?

Victron Smartstunt 500 ..steady blue light....:mexican wave:

Cut me finger....removed drivers seat twice....forgot to reattach the CTEK battery sensor ...took awhile to Bluetooth connect..
But now I’ve got a boss battery monitor.....yippee yippee

just need some sun to check out the solar panels .......well happy :):)

I tried that second time round and it definitely didn’t sound as good as the passenger door. Let’s see if this gets better over the next x weeks of lockdown. If not I’ll take it off and try it somewhere else.
I sound-deadened my front doors today.
The drivers door always needed a harder push than the passenger door, which I put down to the door seal.
Anyway, now it’s had some Silent Coat added, it closes properly the first time.

Back working on the van again now the sun's coming out...

Decided to have a go at painting the original VW badge gloss black, they've come out OK so far, will know tomorrow properly in day light

Total cost less than 15 quid

Good for you but how does that work?

I guess it’s the heavier door causing it to close that bit easier - you push it closed with the same amount of force, but the weight ensures the rubber seal doesn’t defeat it and bounce it back ajar.

Really want to do this but get the feeling I’ll break the door card always looks like you’ll break something in the videos I’ve seen. And not clear where the clips are o_O

I’ve had the door card off two or three times now. Yesterday, whilst fitting it, I had to remove it three times after losing the electric window cable down the void.
Haven’t broken any clips, and that was using hands rather than trim-tools. Just tugging from the bottom.
You’ll probably be fine

That looks the bollocks
I'm very happy with it.:D
When I was buying it I was contemplating putting uprated arb's on too.
I decided to hold off and see what the ride was like without them first.
Glad I did. I find the pitching has been very well controlled and the roll round corners has been reduced alot too. Feels very flat and controlled in the corners now and don't leave me gripping the steering wheel with all my might so stop me falling out my seat.
Compared to the H&R -40 springs on STD shocks the coilovers are night and day superior.

Fitted some puddle lights, will check them out later when it’s darker lol

Fitted some Travelin-Lite footwell lights and a Van-X glove box.

Both an easy fit and I especially like the fact there is a little switch on the back of the lights to change the colours between Red, White and Blue.

I think I might have to get a set for the rear now !

Oh, and I did the good thing and returned the Tesco trolley someone decided to leave outside my house this morning!

Had planned to be touring the Uk in the last 12 months of my life. Bloody Covid19 has put paid to that. Bummer

On the bright side I can strongly recommend this Camping site. Great views of my house :)
