What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Took the original rear, 2 part Vw badge off. The glue took longer to remove than the actual badge :

Fitted the new sprayed Bamboo Garden Green, previously gloss black, rear part of the badge, measuring carefully to get it straight and centered :

And then fitted the sprayed up matt black, previously chrome Vw badge :

Another little mod, now completed
Even Mrs moomin-j thinks it looks "not bad & alright"!!
I think she secretly likes the T6 scene and just doesn't want to admit it!!

Nice! Is that a Stitches + Steel rail @Jayjmac?
I looked at their one but opted for this one.

Didn’t like the aluminium look. It fits spot on with the pre drilled holes. It sticks up a little at the back but I’m hoping when I’ve used the drive away awning a few times I’ll cut that bit off if it’s not needed.

A splurge on Amazon has resulted in a few deliveries over the weekend.

Digital Tyre Inflator topped up my (unknowingly) underinflated tyres easily enough - I like the set pressure, push button, auto stop function.
Admittedly Cheap Dashcam more of a deterrent than anything else, if you've had a nutter in front of you then you'll know that pointing to a dashcam may calm them down. Also
for thieves, they're never quite sure if it's pinging pictures online these days. While the plug is dangling by the 12v 'lighter' socket the rest of the wiring has been hidden really easily behind the dash panels and up the A pillar, I was pleasantly surprised.
Red/Green Slider I've driven off before and realised I've left the gas switched on, as it's a bugbear of mine I'll soon adopt a gas on, slide to red, gas off, slide to green and check
before driving away. I've mounted it on the lower poptop trim above the passenger seat easily accessible and viewable.

I'm still waiting on a steering lock and a matt black VW grill badge. I've also been waiting since before lockdown on getting my Kenwood unit/reversing camera properly connected up so hopefully hear something this week. Then I can think about a bike rack. Then Cross Climates. Then Solar. It's all £££sssss. Believe it or not I do believe the end is in sight :)

With the cross climates, while they are good tyres, i just got some Falken equivelent put on and i rather quite like them.. they were 40/50 (235/55/R17) quid a tyre cheaper as well! i slung it along the a roads late at night to get the sheen off and they were not too shabby. AS301 iirc.
The dashcam is a good idea. rear too. id rather not have to deal with insurance because someone was driving to close to my ass and 'something smaller than my van' ran out in front, brakes on, smash.... shouldnt be less than a car anyway.

I had Cross Climates before and got good grip and wear out of them but I'll take a look at the Falkens. I've viewed some dashcam footage to see the quality, you'll get better but in bright low early morning sunshine it's more than passable.

I've been attempting to do the panels in my bus for 3wks. (cover in carpet and fix up) I kept getting sent the wrong hidden clips by fleabayers until last week when Harrisons Trim supplies sent me the correct ones. Thanks Lisa. So I was going to do it this weekend when I fell over on my bike and trapped my index finger between brake lever and throttle and bent thumb back. (No damage to bike, was an balance/slip/gravel foot thing and I have terrific crash bungs everywhere). So now I have a cartoon finger thats swollen on end with blackpinched nail and a sprained thumb. I'm getting the feeling that fate doesnt want me to do these damned panels. Plus my daughter is taking the piss that I fell off bike at 1mph. The apple didnt fall very far from the tree dammit. I can still hear her laughing her ass off.

I sympathise on both counts - I too had problems with a couple of eBay buys of those smaller so called VW hidden clips and Harrisons came up with the goods for me in the end as well. They're now my go to for that sort of thing.
Despite the damage (and humiliation) the you suffered with your off, just count yourself lucky that it was at 1 MPH. I came off mine a couple of years ago and the Garmin told me that I was doing 26 MPH when the ride 'ended'. Luckily, I didn't do any permanent damage to myself but the road rash on my thigh was bad news and I had bone exposed on an elbow where it was cut up so badly - that should have been enough but it subsequently became infected as well. Apart from that, I was generally bashed up and my £150 cycling helmet also took a big enough blow to snap one of the struts on the front (but my bonce was OK!). However, apart from the handlebars being knocked off straight, the bike was OK which was a bit of a plus point but I didn't get to ride it agin for 3 months.

Like wasnt for road rash. Eek. I wear full on leathers at ALL times. But they cant do much for the tip of a finger getting crushed or bending my thumb back. Plus my knee protection helped protect the bike. I didnt even break a mirror which peeved me as I lightly grazed my garage wall a couple of weeks ago and snapped it.

I always cringe when I see motorcyclists wearing shorts and t-shirts as 'offs' can happen anytime and when you least expect it.

Van Seat Upholstery & Mats | Harrison's Trim Supplies for all your trim supplies. Although they could be less generous with the glue, I got 10 cans of it, I could glue all the vans in teh south east now.

Ah, you was on a motor bike - mine was a push (road) bike. Now I can understand why she took the piss so much! You deserved it:D.

Link to dash rubber? Or search term? Please :) - Saw it on a couple mod sites but all out of stock when I looked. Such a good idea...

Yeah I rate the Michelin highly. I had a set kn my c4, they've done 15k ish and they still have half their tread. But that's on a slow poke French falling apart but still drives and go tinny light c4
I'd hope to get 20k out of these tyres. I've found the falken tyres dont last quite as long but generally speaking, they work out better value (maybe because I get them from a falken dealer... then again, place I use, their tyre prices are really good on anything)

I got mine from Ebay. I bought as a set with the door rubbers as well.

One site said that some of the door rubbers are too thin on ebay and cause leakage, making them essentially a gimmick.
Am looking for some though. Me old man wants them on his..

Edit: If the advert is to believe, they understand my worry..

I'll give it a go. See if they have just the rubber for window as well... cheers
