Fitted a swing out table to cook outside the van (or inside)View attachment 77148
I wondered about riveting mine on, but I'm guessing the plate is too thick?I’m thinking of one of these tables, what screws did you use to secure the plate to the trim? Not sure if it’s metal directly behind or if you need to use nuts, bolts with washers to make it secure...
I used short stainless self tappers.Theres a void behind there but I’m not sure how much free space is available for nuts washers.I wondered about riveting mine on, but I'm guessing the plate is too thick?

Finally had the B14's fitted. Looks and handles great compared to stock suspension. Thanks again Oli @BognorMotors for supplying them. Also anyone in the North East, BTG Performance in North Shields, great service and competitively priced, highly recommend!!
Very nice! Love that finish, such a difference from the rest of us with grey carpet!Today I fitted panel number one having filled in voids with sheep wool insulation. Silent coat and a closed cell
Foam layer beneath that and rear speakers. Quite pleased with the result!View attachment 82168View attachment 82167View attachment 82165
I'm not sure if this has been done to or bought for the van but we were undecided on whether or not to go up to Malvern for the Motorhome and Campervan show but when I saw that SVTech (Welcome) would be there that swung it for us as the weight being carried by a fully loaded T28 camper conversion has been on my mind a bit lately. After a chat with the SV Tech guy on the stand (a very nice chap named Richard) who advised that we could add 200Kg to the limit without any further modifications as we already have T32 rated wheels and tyres, I went back to the van and took a few evidential photographs (current weight plate (or whatever it's called), VIN plate, wheels and tyres), filled out a form with full details of the van and handed over some cash on the promise that I would have a new weight plate and certificate in the mail next week. That would then be sent to DVLA who would issue a revised V5 reflecting what was effectively a T30 weight capacity (the van would, of course remain as a T28 in name). That said, I reckon we will be into next summer before DVLA get around to doing anything!
As to the show in general, it was alright to wander around for an hour or so and while we didn't buy anything else, there were a lot of VW campers and motorhomes on display and it's always nice to see a bit of camper porn. I was also tempted by an Minster Polar insulated windscreen screen cover but after a close look came to the conclusion that it was a pretty insubstantial thing for the money being asked (but I know others speak highly of them). There weren't a lot of people there yesterday but I suspect today and tomorrow might be a different story if the weather is decent (or, at least, not chucking it down).
They're full top covers rather than stick on, but they're not real carbon fibre.hi are these the real ones that stick on top?
im after lower ones that are real carbon but not stick on...any vibes who and where?
Hi Simon, I've just PMd you.Hi Ajay,
If you don't mind me asking, how much did this capacity upgrade cost you, have been thinking of getting this done for my T28
Cheers

Is that a genuine tailgate release or an alternative?Finished installing carpeted panels, including a stealthy IKEA allen key to hold the tailgate latch in - the extra width was too much for the clips.

Also, an edge to finish the Altro floor - £3.

The genuine original. The 6mm ply lining was too thick. I trimmed the plastic on the 'C' clip at the top, but the spring clips wouldn't quite engage and I didn't want to break it. The allen key was a temporary hold, but it actually works fine.Is that a genuine tailgate release or an alternative?
