What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

@Qnapper. Looks like new in the photo - well done. So how did you do it? a gentle spray and wipe or just a wipe round with a damp cloth. The closest that I've ever come to cleaning an engine bay is waving a damp cloth around near it. I'd be terrified of getting stuff wet that was never supposed to have otherwise..

Well, after watching loads of videos, I went for Autoglym - Engine and Machinery Cleaning Spray. I did not tape anything off or cover cables etc. I used a small paint brush to get to the hard-to-reach (very dirty bits or caked in) areas, and this took about 30 minutes. Next with a water hose on a weak spray washed it all off, adjusting spray as and when needed. Left to dry for about 2 hours help by me drying a lot of it off. Then sprayed the whole engine with Autoglym - Vinyl and Rubber, Car Surface Protection for the Care of Interior and Exterior Trims wiping it in where I could reach and leaving it to dry where I could not. Tomorrow will do a second coat. Worth the effort on a 2016 camper van.

They are genuine Sportline 5 Spoke 18” Wheels. I think they are an earlier generation. I bought them from Deaky here on the forum recently. I'm very pleased with them. They really suit the van I think
Thanks , do you have picture of the wheels ?

Many thanks. Quick question. I have H4 headlights fitted and would like to fit H7. I have just spoken to VW and been informed that H4 are 3 pin and H7 is 2 pin. Is that correct and if so is there a connector mod required or will they fit the same connector ?

VW are talking about the bulb fitments, if you change the full headlights it’s a straight swap with no plug or wiring issues.

Thanks , I have asked the same question from 2 different dealerships and get the same answer , now totally confused
That’s what they do best.
The H4 and H7 bulbs sit in different shaped housings so are not interchangeable.
However complete headlamps are interchangeable.
There are many VERY long headlamp discussions on this Forum.
The cheapest way to get from H4 to H7 is to buy some used VW OEM H7 units from Ebay or similar

Hi just ordering H4 Osram Night breaker's to try before going down the fitting replacement even if they 50% better than what's in there will be an improvement...
Crazy that the van comes with poor headlights in this day and age. When all the other Vans out there have Normal headlights...

i ll put in here how i get on with them when they arrive Nick X

Looks great, about to tackle this myself. Can I ask advantages the shunt offers, does the roamer bms not provide the info needed. Cheers
I already had the shunt and the space to fit it under the drivers seat so I decided to fit it to the circuit. Have a chat with Steve @RoamerBatteries who was very helpful and get his opinion. I picked up a great piece of advice from the forum and got some plastic trim that fits over the sharp edges of the seat frame. The number of times you will end up re-positioning the battery will definately scratch the battery casing.

Absolutely nothing due to it peeing down since Xmas! SWMBO did ask if I’m getting ants in my pants as I have been gathering together the tools I need and reading fitting instructions twice (yet I can’t fit as it is still raining!) My birthday and Xmas presents remain in their boxes! Is there a support group for this type of frustration?!!
