What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Nice @JOG - what splitter is that please?
Got it from Vanstyle - was about £100 I think. They have an eBay shop too. Check both as the eBay shop includes postage whereas direct incurs a stupid delivery charge! I like the quality of what was delivered and it fits well. That said, I may add a few extra fixings.

It is the “subtle” factor that did it for me! But, then again, I’m bit of a “less is more” sort!!!
Ditto, why I’m reconsidering my bling chrome banded steels I’ve just fitted! The wife thinks I’m mad ha

Ha ha ha! First thing I did when I got my van was spend £1200 on wheels….gloss black, diamond cut jobbies….bought a set of “delivery miles only” Devonports on here which I prefer! Then again, I run around with a numberplate that spells “tosser”!!!

I made up a small back wheel for my bike so I can mount the bike in the back of the van without needing to slide the seats all the way forward. The wheel helps no end with getting the bike in and out. We have a trip to Bike Park wales planned next weekend so this means we can fit three bike and us all in the van (SWB Caravelle conversion) in comfort. Fork mount and rail are from FortyWinks (and are quality). I had to create new mount points in the back of the van as the old mounts were buried under the floor. They are RivNuts mounted into the threshold plastic.

Wheel is just big enough to protect the derailleur and keep it off the floor.

FortyWInks Bike Station is a quality bit of kit (ignore the test wheel, it was for proof of concept).

New mount points are RivNuts mounted into the plastic moulding beneath the cover.

Plenty of legroom now, before there was probably 2" between the seats and other than sitting in the middle with your legs crossed made the back seats useless.

I love the offroad look of the wheels.

I also installed LED's in the step lights to match the other lights that were already LED. I used LED tape after having a number of issues trying to use LED bulbs (kept blowing fuses).

Finally I installed a "neon" loop round the headlining that comes on with the door lights.

She’s a keeper! I’m talking about the van, of course!

Finally, finally, finally fitted my Climair deflectors (they are the smoked version) and lower splitter. These have been waiting all Xmas due to the poor weather. Thanks to @Skyliner33 and @Texxaco for sending pics of their climairs as I wobbled about drilling into my van!!!

Smoky Climair's are looking great @JOG. I need to have a word with myself, just order a pair and get over the fact I need to tap a couple of teeny tiny holes to fit 'em. Did you drill pilot holes or just use self-tappers to attach them pal? If you could PM me with the pix shared by @Skyliner33 and @Texxaco I'd be massively grateful (as long as those two gents are happy with that of course)...

I’ve sent you a pic of my fixing!

They come with tiny black screws. They are really small, look bigger in the photos. I think its a 1 or 2mm hole, i drilled mine and put a dab of black roofing sealant before screwing on gently by hand. Leave the impact driver well alone :think smile bounce:

1mm pilot and definitely screw by hand!

How easy are they to fit @JOG ?
Got some delivered the other day and looking to fit them at some point went the thermometer creeps above freezing!
By eck, it's grim up north!

The climairs? Very straight forward. When in, I just pushed the lower part (that takes the screw) in with my thumb so that it is “centred” on the plastic before drilling. (See pic below) As above, don’t over drill it as the screws are very small.

Had it out for a long test drive - they’re solid. Glad I went for the “smoked” rather than black too. They look as good as my Hekos did on the outside, but “block” less when driving.
