What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

That must have been a largish pheasant. Hit them in the past and they have bounced off.

Yesterday driving home from work a pheasant decided to headbutt my grill!

To be honest I got off lightly, with the sound (bang) it made I thought the bonnet might be dented and damaged!
Oh ffs! I think someone on here is offering a grill for free (or cheaply) though it might need painting up

Sorry for the rubbish pictures.

Hopefully I’ll get all these bits fitted tomorrow if it stops raining.

I’ve got headlights, tail lights, side repeaters, grille, sportline bumper and splitter, led bulbs for fogs, rear spoiler and dash and door seals. Also waiting on the lower grilles with drl’s in.

Thanks @JOG but I’ve already got one in my garage that I’ve been waiting to fit…. good job I waited!

Heavy duty back springs and new shock absorbers fitted, along with 20 mm spacers.

H&R ARB waiting until tomorrow when my new M14 spline bit arrives…

Mate you missed an opportunity there. Pre plucked pheasant and you let it get away after it mugged you off.

I'm removing 5 man points for that. He's sat with a could of his mates a few beers looking at the nice gloss black worktop he's got in his kitchen made from your grill.

Isn't it illegal to pick up your own roadkill?

I've never heard of such a law, although there might be some local by-law somewhere dating back many years.
The S11 Wildlife and Countryside Act is the bit that prevents you from taking the animal if you're the one that killed it:

S11(2) Subject to the provisions of this Part, if any person...

(e) uses any mechanically propelled vehicle in immediate pursuit of any such wild animal for the purpose of driving, killing or taking that animal...

he shall be guilty of an offence. Doubt they could get you on this....

I hit a pigeon in the Amarok. I might have been able to miss him, but thought 'av it, I'm in a tough 4x4'. When I got home and saw the broken grille, I realised that the tough 4x4 is still made out of the same stuff that little cars are.

Yes, there’s stronger plastic in my recycling bin, cosmetic appearance and unit cost is all that matters. T6 bumpers are about as strong as chocolate.
I blame Blue Peter presenters for making stuff out of yogurt pots.

The Woodland trust don't mention what legislation relates to taking roadkill home for the pot, probably because it's just a myth.

The RAC seem more knowledgeable on the subject;

They describe an "unwritten rule" that if you kill an animal in a collision, you shouldn't take it away. So not a law.

Local head keeper told me it was, the following person is allowed to pick it up.
They give the things away by the sack full around here if you want them, just cut the breasts out, the rest is crow food.
