What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Previews T5 experience: rot under driver side door cover. Don’t want the same for my t6.
In addition I have replaced the dor seal which was ripped.
Good clean, anti rust where there are marks, put back together…next week passenger side…

Today I stripped the front off and fitted gloss black lower grills, fitted spot lights and gloss black surrounds. I also removed the grill from the bumper and sprayed that gloss black. I then repainted the fluorescent orange as the sun had bleached it. Got uv resistant clear coat this time.
I'm happy with the result.
Also had a visit from @Donk see if we could figure out his clunk. Met Mrs Donk aswell. Very nice couple had a very good chat. Very tidy T6 too.

What paint and primer did you use for the grill - thinking of doing this too based on some of the feedback on aftermarket grills

I used Jenolite black filler primer. Then 041 black base coat which is piano black. Top coat with upol uv resistant clear coat.
Yeah I was in two minds to buy one but though why not just paint my own for £45. Nice saving meaning more other bits for the van.

Super job

Finished the custom duel audison 8" sub /woofer box under rear seats, feeding from the sub channel on the Prima 5.9 bridged to 2 ohm20220807_181329.jpg20220807_181347.jpg, OMG I seriously prefer these than subs as its seriously beefed up the lower end in the back of the van

Absolute mess and back to the beginning but oh well!
Just need to sort out the flooring and get a cut out for the c pillar so I can fit the seatbelts

Tried out the Silver Screens rear screen blackout thermal screen that I bought from another member a while back.
Easy to apply with 2 large velcro straps. Will need a bit of tape for the cutout for the rear wiper which Doris doesn't have.

Tried out a Jackery extension cable, direct to leisure battery with it mounted on the roof unfixed. Nice bit of free charging

I‘m looking at solar panels to connect to my AllPowers battery generator for trickle charging but I really don’t want to stick it on the roof or drill holes or fit roof bars - it’s a Kombi rather than a campervan.

Thought about having it on the dashboard when parked but it will be a faff everytime I get in/out.

Will probably give up and stick to the 12v ignition live to trickle charge when I drive it - but I know that solar would be the better option charging wise.
