What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Finally made a start on the front cab section of the Kombi.

Sound deadened and thermal lined the ceiling to match the rest of the van. Also fitted the Alpine tweeters. I plan to fit the door card speakers once the rain guards come later this week.

My future plan is to remove the seats and sound deaden the floor. When I do this I will wire some USBs and 12v sockets under both seats. I’ve already drilled and fitted them to Ovano seat bases.

Looks great. Where did you get the carpet from? Has the matting and carpet made a difference with road noise? I take it the seats have to come out to swap?

Carpet was from a breakers. I haven’t driven it yet but hoping the carpet and the soundproofing will make a difference. The seats and even the centre console had to come back out so not a quick swap.

Finally had some decent weather of the weekend and managed to fit my side window from Camperglass. No drama during installation apart from snapping several shop brand jigsaw blades. Sliding window so hope it doesn’t leak!

250 mile round trip to drop Vera off at @BognorMotors this morning to have a diesel heater, leisure battery, dash cam and some lights and sockets added.

Hi Jonesy68 I used Maguires ceramic polish. It took me about 3 hours after I washed it.

Started making some custom A-Pillar tweeter/mid speaker mounts for my new speakers, I am trying to decide if I carbon fibre skin them, paint or trim in grey alcantara!

Not sure how much I will use my latest mod. Installed an SAE sidewall portal connector below the glovebox so that I can direct charge the Main Battery on EHU without opening bonnets or winding windows. The glove box has the perfect diameter recess for the connector but the SAE connector protrudes too far and you cannot close the GB.

The SAE portal had a different polarity to the charger XT90 to SAE connector. No compliance standards

Last Sunday I have replaced the following:
- front brake pads
- intercooler rubber mounts
- engine oil
- filters(oil, air, fuel & cabin)
- alternator overrunning pulley
- timing belt & coolant pump

And I am not happy cause I was hoping to also get my DCC front shock absorbers installed .

Where did you get the white bit that holds the speakers from please?

Yes, they do as my example proves.
Even though my engine has balancing shafts vibrations on the top of the engine are quite significant.
