What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

@ei-aprilia. Where did you get the bolt covers please?
Oh gosh now your asking! I've had these on my last 2 vans so purchase was quite a long time ago! They are genuine vw touareg ones, from memory they weren't cheap at around £70. I think I got them from my local vw dealer.

Re fitted the side bars cos I couldn’t get the brackets off, nuts seized. Only been on 2 years. Sprayed with wd40 and I’ll try again another time.
You could also try some penetrating oil. Worth having in the garage. Has helped me with a few tricky ones.

@ei-aprilia. Cheers for that but I'm just too tight to pay the grossly inflated prices that VW demand for such things! There are loads of cheap ones on eBay and the like but I've never found any sets of silver ones in 19mm that have 4 locking wheel nut covers (ie. like the set off black ones that I currently have and which cost £4.95!).

Pulling out the old carpet lining and ply lining, so that it’s ready for conversion later this week.

Removing the glue isn’t much fun, but helped massively by some white spirit.

Re fitted the summer 19" Cantaras, then cleaned the winter 16" Claytons and put them back into storage.

Fitted yellow Osram H11 fog breaker bulbs - the colour probably isn't to everyone's tastes, but I just fancied a change from the bright white LEDs previously fitted.

Applied Denso tape to the 8mm exposed exterior routed copper gas pipe termination joints where the plastic overbraid was cut back & to the copper ended hose tails- a very greasy, dirty job but at least it gives a good amount of protection from corrosion.
Mrs moomin-j wasn't happy at the borrowing of her "best" kitchen scissors so I could cut the Denso tape, which she now refuses to have back in the kitchen drawer even though I have cleaned them with white spirit & my best heavy duty cleaning wipes!!

You allowed yourself to be caught?!! Disappointing!

Fitted my MS Craft double front seat swivel this evening.
Really simple to do.
Works a treat.
Nice! Did mine recently, too.

Have you sat on it yet? I’ve got no hope of travelling on the passenger seat… but then again, I wouldn’t ever choose to anyway.

I’m 6’6” by the way. Yea, so that makes it a bit more awkward to lose 5cm or so in headroom. That said, no leg room for me on the passenger side either…

Finally prepped and ready for full conversion.

Loads of jobs done today,
- removed old floor (old panels came out yesterday)
- removed spray glue overspray
- metal paint on all exposed metal and screw holes
- reverse camera and wiring fitted

Final task… VCDS with the support of a fellow T6F member bright and early tomorrow morning

If tow bar and reversing camera are both working 12 hours from now, I’ll be a very happy man.
