Cut a window shaped hole in the side of my van!

Cleared the van out ready for first stage of conversion tomorrow:

Debadged and fitted a carbon look skid plate to the rear

Replaced the courtesy lights with LEDs to match the new footwell lights.

Continued working on my ‘Kombi bench‘ storage box. It is bolted down through the middle load points - still needs some trim, doors adjusted and a lid to finish. 6x9s in the front of it firing forward under the seats. I can still get to the pull to tip the seat forward too….





Also installed the B pillar table and cranked leg - used M5 rivnuts and countersunk hex head bolts….



And stuck my M25 Run the Ring sticker on the rear tailgate glass (until after the run)…

Fitted the front seat cover from Leather Inn.
Pretty good fit. There are a few marks on it, I presume glue or something, but not enough to kick up a fuss.

Just need to get the passenger side captain seat now!

Are the load points threaded holes? Or do you need to access a nut under the van?

No under van access needed - the load point fixings are basically a weld nut on an L shaped plate riveted to a chassis rail.

Captive nuts from above - M10 spline bit to undo the load lashing and then replaced with a suitable length bolt

Got two of these from Ikea. They are slightly narrower so fit the van perfectly. Also we use them at home, so now it feels more like home....
