What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

No Wayne no room for a motorbike trailer but I’ve acquired a Leder Seville trailer with abs lid that I will use I’m also getting my head around travelling to Benidorm again as the last time we drove there in our last motorhome was October 2018 and since we came out of Europe it’s totally different taking a dog abroad.
You're not old enough for a mobility scooter!

It's easy enough John , AHC from the vets to get you out there (not cheap) and then get a spanish passport for her
€70 last for 3 years .

Fitted rear wheel carrier and pelican box (so the wheel doesn't foul it).

I know the extra plate I put in isn't straight, but with the aluminium rack holding the captive bolts I really didn't want to take it apart again. (For the third time)

how did you find fitting the wheel carrier? Those bolts were a **** to access in the tailgate!!
Luckily I had a mate over and put him to work!

I first aligned it as far to the right as I could, without the tyre protruding the edge of the van - using the top tailgate lip to slide along (for those of you who haven't fitted one of these already).
Then, after drilling one pilot hole from the outside, I was pleasantly surprised to see I wouldn't have to cut away any of the inside door frame.
However, I could hear plenty of swearing from the inside, so it was pretty tight with the backing plates fitted in there too. Using the locking nuts provided made it much harder for him. Normal nuts with washers or flanged nuts would have been much easier.

And I used a step drill to finish off the six holes. It gives a much neater, rounder finish.
I also replaced their bolts for A2 stainless (but not the locking nuts!).

I also used some trim on the lip of the carrier, so there's no metal-on-metal.
It's the kind of trim that's often put on sharp edges of bodywork where cables need to run.

Spent a metric f*** ton of money on it! o_O

@CRS Performance for:

Koni Special shocks
Std height springs
25mm lift spacers
Lower front arm bushes
H&R anti roll bars
New drop links
Rear discs and pads
Alignment

And then onto flatdog UK for roof rack fitting, already paid for.

Suspension is massively improved, it's settled over normal 'smooth' roads, I'm not feeling every single bloody imperfection in the road and it's just a whole load more comfortable!

And it's about 4" higher than it was before! :D

The rack is excellent, really good mounting system and there's very, very little wind noise - if any.

They're 17" OZ Racing Rally Raid wheels. And 245/65 r17 Falken Wildpeak AT3WA tyres.

They’re lovely mate! I was asking as I’ve just ordered some 17” Rogue ravage wheels with some Michelin Agilis Crossclimate tyres. I was I little bit concerned about clearance space. It’s currently 40mm dropped, but I’m putting standard springs back on so should be ok?! Think I’m out growing my ‘Max Power’ days now and going all ‘sensible’ perish the thought…!

Here's random picture of one of mine I've found.

thats the first pic I’ve seen with the different colour bolts. Looks great! Is it on Standard springs?

More electrics ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Mounted the Powerbank (bolted through oak top), made up a lead (xt60 to Anderson) fully sleeved and heat shrunk, so I can power fridge off Powerbank if LB runs down. Using twin entry bootlace crimps connected ‘patch lead’ into fridge isolator for above patch lead. (Yes I know the isolator is bit ‘overkill’ but it was left off a job, and one of the smallest double pole isolators, DC rated, that I could find). I can now fully isolate fridge from LB to avoid parasitic drain and it stops any back feed to van electrics when the Powerbank is plugged into patch to run fridge. Next week ARB roofrack.

I found out they're sold out when I started looking for a spare!
You'll have no worries with your suspension.
Mine's a T32 so uprated at the back - just depends how much weight you've got.

new crankshaft seal, cambelt, waterpump, aux belt 2 new rear spings, mot a full service, dam that was an expensive day now waiting for the bill...

New (to me) colour coded bumper. Keeping the black bumper corners to match my lights, although I might buy some primed new ones and have them painted gloss black. Did the whole job in day including colour coding the parking sensors.

I feel like there’s a personalisation opportunity with these bumper corners that isn’t being exploited. Thinking hat is on. :)
