Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Lapwing Farm C&CC site in The Peak District… we are the only ones here, beautiful spot. View attachment 129455
Ok, so who didn’t read ALL the reviews for Lapwing with one saying ‘ relatively quiet apart from the dogs barking in the kennels at the farm next door’:(…. (Ok so I could of done that whilst waiting for the missus but hey ho )Bit of an understatement in my mind…. It would be a very peaceful spot otherwise. We might move…. that’s the joy of # vanlife… if you pitch up and it doesn’t suit you… move on!

Nicholaston Farm on the Gower for three days. Home now for a quick turnaround (new tyres, interior valet) then off to Scotland for almost three weeks.

I like that site. Last year we walked from there down through the woods and across the dunes and along the beach to Oxwich Bay Hotel for a drink and something to eat. Foolishly we walked back as darkness fell. Walking through the dunes and woods to get back up to the site with only a light on an iPhone was interesting. Add to that we went wrong somewhere too. Not one of our best nights!

Well a week in the Cotswolds area cut short because it was too darn hot to do much of the things we came here for, the heat was really too much for the pooch so back home now. Had three nights at Cheltenham Race course site great views from our pitch and 2 at Tudor Caravan park Slimbridge but I’m glad to be home now.

Who'd have thought it would be this hot in September. We're in Salisbury and like you have not done to much as its to dangerous for the dog. Spent most of today in the river.

FlockSpeed in Wakefield. Then a short trip to Elsecar Hertage Centre near Barnsley. On the way home, stopped off at Thirsk for a wander round and a pint of Theakstons Bitter.

We love Dungeness @Bashers - we are always down to the RSPB reserve, where the power station makes an amazing backdrop. Great walks and lots of wildlife to see, then fish and chips at the Pilot pub!
