Ok, so who didn’t read ALL the reviews for Lapwing with one saying ‘ relatively quiet apart from the dogs barking in the kennels at the farm next door’…. (Ok so I could of done that whilst waiting for the missus but hey ho )Bit of an understatement in my mind…. It would be a very peaceful spot otherwise. We might move…. that’s the joy of # vanlife… if you pitch up and it doesn’t suit you… move on!Lapwing Farm C&CC site in The Peak District… we are the only ones here, beautiful spot. we are the only ones here
Yes that did cross our minds! Now you know why.
I like that site. Last year we walked from there down through the woods and across the dunes and along the beach to Oxwich Bay Hotel for a drink and something to eat. Foolishly we walked back as darkness fell. Walking through the dunes and woods to get back up to the site with only a light on an iPhone was interesting. Add to that we went wrong somewhere too. Not one of our best nights!Nicholaston Farm on the Gower for three days. Home now for a quick turnaround (new tyres, interior valet) then off to Scotland for almost three weeks.

Who'd have thought it would be this hot in September. We're in Salisbury and like you have not done to much as its to dangerous for the dog. Spent most of today in the river.Well a week in the Cotswolds area cut short because it was too darn hot to do much of the things we came here for, the heat was really too much for the pooch so back home now. Had three nights at Cheltenham Race course site great views from our pitch and 2 at Tudor Caravan park Slimbridge but I’m glad to be home now.
Just come from dungeness myself, I work at that big ugly grey building in the background. Apparently it’s the only desert in Britain.Dungeness….View attachment 127726
