the Genuine NOCO cases are much better quality than the knock-off versions.

and well worth the investment imho.

Yep I’ve used my Noco GB40 in Austria when I left the heater connected to the van battery. Started 1st time

I see that the GBX75 is on offer again on Amazon at £220 and am minded to pull the trigger. The recommbined protective case for it seems to be the GBC103 at £56 on Amazon but I'm sure I've seen comment on here that the GBC014 case (at £30) also fits. Can anybody advise please?

The GBC014 case fits the GB70 and the GBX75

After ordering the Noco GBX75 just after lunch Saturday for delivery on tomorrow (Tuesday), I had an email yesterday morning saying that it would arrive today and then another saying that it would arrive yesterday (which it did!). All good so far but one possibly stupid question if I may: The manual says that it's capable of '60W USB-C Power Delivery 3.0' charging. I would need to check all of them but I think the most powerful USB-C charger that we've got probably belongs to my wifes Honor Laptop and I was hoping that somebody could advise on whether or not it is compatible with the Noco - I think the answer's yes but would rather be safe than sorry. Here's a picture of the label on the charger:

I have used mine to power my MacBook Air Pro and that takes 60w. There a number that would not power it but Noco was fine. However the depends on the model you have. The Honor Magic takes 65w which may work or it may just power the laptop but may not charge the laptop battery or at least be very slow. Look at the laptop specs and see what the input power is.

@Mick. Sorry if I wasn't clear - I'm talking about using the Honor charger to charge the Noco GBX75 (NOT the Noco to power the laptop!). Or maybe I've misunderstood your post?

Cant see it being a problem, it will just accept whatever is offered to it, if its lower powered them it will just charge slower
I have used a variety of usbs to charge mine (older USB-A model) from iphone chargers to dashboard ones some of which are 5v 1A so it just charges really slowly

I thought we were talking about the laptop charger not the actual laptop ?

Yep but a potential problem is the laptop USB running at up to full capacity, over a long time on a Noco may well cause heat issues. That may not manifest immediately but later down the line it may well do so.

OK I'll start again :slow rofl: . The laptop charger should be fine. Using the power from the laptop would be very dodgy

Cheers guys - you've reassured me that the laptop charger will be OK but I'll order in one of those amazon chargers anyway as it looks like a useful thing to have around. One of these days, I might get around to going through all the chargers that we have lying around the house - it will probably run into the 100s and I'll bin some of the older very low power ones!

@Ayjay what I have found best and to work for me is to use the 12v cigarette type lead attached. Assuming van is moving it does not take long to fully charge as will supercharge. I've used mine 6 times over last couple of days (don't ask) and now charging whilst driving. Make sure the supercharge led icon is showing. Using the 60sec boost mode will use battery far quicker, however, I think it was @Dellmassive who wrote a post about how long they actually hold their charge. If not using shouldn't need to charge up very often!

Boost X is now turbo-chargeable. It is equipped with USB-C technology that, combined with power delivery, gives you lightning-fast recharges. Completely recharge the GBX75 in 1.7 hours, or go from 0% to jump starting in just 5-minutes of charge. With Boost X’s 60W USB-C input and output, it is possible to charge up to 5X faster. Use compatible chargers up to 60W to increase your charging speed.

They can hold their charge for a year apparently. (70% after 12mnths)

But should be top-up charged every 6 months.

All I can say is that when I plugged the [up to] 65W Honor USB-C charger into my GBX75, it showed two red bars (and the fast charge light) and when `i next looked at it about 50 minutes later, it was fully charged. I'm just going to put it in the van in the case now where it will hopefully stay until top up time - I've put a diary reminder to recharge it in 4 months. I'll check on the charge state then and decide how often to do it from there.
